I sort ta figured that out the first time i ever heard his stuff. Sounds nothing like the normal floyd.
I never liked The Wall much either, since it seems sortta unlike them. DSOTM, WYWH, and Animals are sortta like them far out jam songs, but the wall is more like, song after song, withthe meaning of the album in every song, but not really like the others. I dont know why, but its always been my least favortie.
I actually I agree with you, I like WYWH, DSOTM, and Animals much more then The Wall(still not bad though). |
Just heard the end of Another Brick In The Wall (Part 2) That English bloke is really funny. "How can you eat your pudding if you don't eat your peas?!?"
Thats the most important part of the song! It just wouldnt be the same without the angry british guy screaming about pudding...Think about the impact on music.... |
Indeed. What course would the album have taken without the angry brit?
The mind shudders away from such thoughts. |
Id seen the Australian Pink Floyd Show on Friday, and at the end of that song, they played that line really loud and the crowd went crazy. It was so sweet.
THey did a great show too. Im surprised most people havent heard of them |
They're not very well known in Australia, which is strange. They aren't touring here again till next year.
|
They seem to stay away from the South.
Just like every other band :upset: |
I've heard of them and im seeing them soon.
|
They seem to stay away from the South.
(big space) Just like every other band :upset:
Yeah, it sucks how bands avoid the small places. Probably afraid of inbred hicks like you. |

Does anyone know if Pulse live is on DVD? |
Nope. I only know that Live at Pompeii is on DVD. It should be released on DVD soon though.
|
So, I'm listening to Delicate Sound Of Thunder, and Wish You Were Here is scratched. :upset:
Anyone else ever had one of their favourite songs rendered unlistenable? /bump in disguise |
I had that problem, and then I found Kazaa
/doesn't have it anymore :upset: |
Fortunately no...
|
I had that problem, and then I found Kazaa
/doesn't have it anymore :upset:
Hehe, it ain't so bad, as I have it ripped to my computer, but it still sucks when I'm listening to it in the car. |
Not a Pink Floyd CD, but my Tool - Undertow CD is scratched up. :upset:
What does everyone think about David Gilmour as a singer? I think he has a great voice and has recorded some incredible layers(Especially on Comfortably Numb). It is too bad he is usually overshadowed by other classic rock vocalists. /me goes off to watch David Gilmour DVD /fanboy |
I think he is better then Roger, but that also might because Roger is an asshole.

I think Gilmour is a way better singer than Waters, and just way more awesome. Gilmour is definitely my favorite guitarist of all time... I LOVE the DVD. |
He is easily better than Syd, but I think Roger has a better tone. David has a greater range though. He's the second singer in Comfortably Numb, isn't he?

Yes, Roger does the eerie(sp?) spoekn part in the beginning. Then Gilmour comes in on "There is no pain/you are receding" Scratch the DVD, my parents are using the TV. |
Yes, I love that part. Very eerie (sp?).
|
Eerie > eery.
The people Gilmour has to do that are terrible. |
You are correct on the spelling :upset:
Though Roger is a great vocalist aswell. Dogs has great vocals. |
I really like the guest vocalists on the David Gilmour Live DVD, I think they do great jobs of Comfortably Numb. Bob Geldof not as much, but I think the first guy (robert wyatt? something like that) does a terrific job of it. I mean, its like talking/singing, so it gets off the idea of him being a "doctor," but still has incredible melody. I just think he has a great singing voice in general.
|
I think the vocals in Pigs(Three Different Ones) owns Dogs.
