I'm lacking in some Cheese albums, Badmoon. I only have a Live one (I think) and Inside In. I was looking into Untying the Not, but it got minimal comments. Opinions?

The best is Born on the Wrong Planet. Untying the Not is okay, but it doesn't really sound like them.

That'll be interesting.

The orchestra will be sweet as well but I know Keller will be great. I saw him on the Acoustic Planet tour with the Flecktones and Yonder Mountain String Band. It was obvious that he was the favorite. This is because he has amazing energy and stage presence and aways a great setlist.

im sorry but O.A.R. is about as jam as Elton John. They are a good college band with a cool song, but any band that is on the Abercrombie and Fitch Tour (which they did this summer) just doesnt get a good jam band nod

Untying the Not is cool if you like the really trippy stuff that Cheese gets into at their shows. But I highly suggest Carnival 99--sure it is a live album and really doesnt count as an album, but it is always the first Cheese I reach for

Well, I know he believes they are a debatable band, but they do have every property a Jam Band has. Other than they do not connect to the unwritten, spoken of "Jam world".

The only String Cheese album I have is Untying the Not and it was alright i suppose. But I've heard various stuff from other albums. And I want to get some of their more bluegrass stuff. But I can't find any of their albums around here. So that kinda sucks.

But anyways...

It was great. They were paying tribute to the Grand Ole Opry (because they were in TN)so they were playing various country tunes. Which kind of unexpected but great all at the same time. I had originally thought that they were just going to cover some album for Halloween as most jam bands do on Halloween but it was great to see them switch it up and pay tribute to their roots. Probaly one of my all time favorite shows I've been to.

Has anybody heard Skerik and his Syncopated Taint Band? Pretty hot stuff; he's played with Les Claypool, Stanton Moore, etc.--the band had like seven or eight horns, keyboards, & drummer.

I want to get off the subject as fast as anyone, but back to this O.A.R. thing one more time. I have been to two Bonnaroos, and the first one was nearly ruined by girls screaming at O.A.R. to play whatever the hell it is girls want to hear. It just reminded me of the crappy fans at a DMB show. DMB is probably the most talented band around and is certaintly the biggest. Unfortunately much of the crowd is concerned with hearing "Crash" or "Space Between", which ruins the whole mood. I feel kinda the same way at OAR. Good band, enjoy their music, but the fans ruin it, and that is a huge part of a "jam band experience"

by the way, my brother went to moe. last nite, said it kicked some serious ***. Now moe. is a jamband that will ultimately go down as one of the best. Any group that can play a 2 song, hour and a half set and keep my attention gets the positive nod. hope you had fun at halloween last nite. (Wish Panic was touring so I could catch a classic Halloween show!)

Well, my Jam friends last Night I had a great experience. I saw The [B]DARK STAR ORCHESTRA[/B] in Philadelphia. And I can tell you that the show was amazing. For those unfamiliar with the band the DSO is a Grateful Dead tribute band. Every show they do is an exact replica of a previous dead show. Last Night's show was from 1983. It was strange because I figured that the show was around 74 or 75 because they played some songs from Blues For Allah and from Skull & Roses.

They Also played some gems such as Not Fade Away, Candyman, and Throwing Stones. And for their encore they played Dear Mr. Fantasy and Ripple. It was truly an amazing show. They tour the entire country I'm pretty sure so if you get a chance to go and see these guys, then I advise you to. It was a great show for only $20.

This Saturday I will be seeing Keller Williams, so I will tell you about it next sunday.

Tribute Wise IMO

Just saw Keller Williams Live with Martin Sexton. It was an awesome concert and I picked up his [I]Loop[/I] album at the concert. I can say that it is an excellent album.

So has anyone else gone to any Jam Concerts lately?
