you can search bands on metal-archives by the genre 'orchestral/symphonic'. clearly protest the hero is not metal enough to be on this website.
I don't see why what the mods do on m-a bothers people, it's their website. It's not on the same level as say, Obama taking certain d0cuments out of the Library of Congress.
It doesn't bother me as much as it makes me laugh, the dude's are complete idiots.

I'll never stop loling at how I got perma banned on M-A for linking Witcher to Das Oath and Comeback Kid's myspaces when he said hardcore is completely different these days then it was in the '80s and '90s.

Nigga callin Dead Man In Reno "modern hardcore."

RetiredAt21 12-29-2009 05:09 PM

Fuggin idiots.

sweboy 12-29-2009 05:18 PM

Dudes, I'm looking for some really dark and homogenous kinda low-fi black metal, like, barely audible melodies, just a big black cloud of intense darkness with desperate vocals buried within. Any suggestions?

Txus 12-29-2009 05:20 PM

Check out Wold and Gnaw their Tongues.

Black metal, the genre of unreadable band names

I stick with symphonic black, thats where black metal is at.

Jaundice 12-29-2009 10:38 PM

I just listen to Chainsaw Guts**** a few times when I need a black metal fix.

masscows 12-30-2009 12:14 AM

Hey Berkay

Yeah I know I'm not on here as much :| I don't want to say I don't have time to internet anymore but I've been trying to busy myself with irl more than usual. Ironically I still don't have a job. I'm working on a folk(y) black(ish) metal project, that's been taking up alot of my time.

rasputin 12-30-2009 12:19 AM

yeah that's fair enough, i've been doing that since semester ended too. though i come on here after i get home from my night-time adventures =P

i didn't know about this project, is it near completion?

masscows 12-30-2009 12:23 AM

Not really, I have one song totally done aside from vocal arrangements but I have 3 other songs that are basically just ideas/skeletons of songs at this point. I still have to figure out how I'm going to record and mix it, I'm sort of treading new water here tbh haha.

oh fair enough

if you're by yourself it can be pretty hard. i've been recording on tape with an old tape player/recorder, but it's always just been from garage jams with a bunch of friends, so i haven't had to worry about doing multiple instruments.

weaboo 12-30-2009 12:40 AM

nate just buy like a $10-20 mic and record into audacity

Morumbar 12-30-2009 05:27 AM

I record into audacity too and my mic was like €45. Just find out where to place the mic to get a good sound and you're fine.

Yeah, it doesn't help that I can't drum worth **** and my friend who I'm trying to get to drum for this project doesn't like black metal at all. I might program the parts just to have them documented.
nate just buy like a $10-20 mic and record into audacity
Yeah I have an acoustic guitar part for half of a song recorded like this, I'll post it sometime today.

RetiredAt21 12-30-2009 11:13 AM

I want an acoustic but I'm not willing to spend the money on it.
