Well I didn't know all the bands you posted, but Belle Epoque rules, and if those other bands sound anything like the bands in parentheses, they probably rule too.

christsimpson 04-22-2009 11:39 AM

check out Build Nest, Sleep. seriously they deserve recognishun. and lots of it. though I predict you will say "they are not emo", like every American does, hehe.

btw I came across a site that said that emo had to be North-American. that was a bit lols. so Canada and USA are the only valid emo countries I guess.

IgniteYourAvail 04-22-2009 11:40 AM

Rofl, that's lame. The best emo I've heard has come from Europe, mainly France.

«The best way of telling is to consider the following factors –

* Is the band on an independent record label?
* Does the band sound lo-fi, was the recording of the band very obviously a relatively inexpensive affair.
* Did the band play benefit shows, did their lyrics contain references to socio-political events, did the band encourage their fans to be politically proactive?
* Does the music sound at least vaguely like other Emocore bands, specifically Rites of Spring, Drive Like Jehu, Hoover, Lungfish etc?
* Is the band from America?

If the answer to all of these questions is yes, then chances are you would be reasonably well justified in labeling this band Emocore.»

Heroin is amazing. 'This time' is one of my favourite songs, its epic.

Iluvatar 04-22-2009 01:01 PM

Does 95% of their fanbase only know them through internet blogs?

christsimpson 04-22-2009 01:05 PM

cbmartinez 04-22-2009 10:46 PM

i was on fox news, my life is complete

hismajestythepope 04-22-2009 10:57 PM

Eh?

Glitterati 04-23-2009 12:48 AM

he was being interviewed about the simpson scandal update

cbmartinez 04-23-2009 01:03 AM

the local fox channel interviewed me and students from one of my classes about low carbon diets and just kept this clip of me spouting this fact about how eating one pound of meat emits the same greenhouse gases as driving an SUV 40 miles and made it look like I had just learned it. basically my response was in defense of being vegetarian and they completely removed any reference to that as they did with this other veg girl i was with

hismajestythepope 04-23-2009 01:07 AM

I don't see how that's a good defense for being vegetarian, moreso a good defense for why SUVs aren't that big of a deal.

Also, lol my mom made fun of you.

Iluvatar 04-23-2009 01:23 AM

karma for being a faggy veg

hismajestythepope 04-23-2009 01:36 AM

Like, I'm vegan and everything. But how does that argument even work? Everyone should stop eating meat products to prevent global warming?
