They are not "very" powerful at all. Don't believe what you read. Brown is a good writer but he extrapolates on "facts" so that they fit his works.

They're powerful enough to get a movie banned. Which to be fair, isnt all that powerful when i think about cause any house wife can do it these days.

Most of Dan Brown's facts are completely bastardized to his liking, so they fit in his book a lot better. Opus Dei aren't going to ban this movie.. If anything, their going to get a lot more popular O.o

Thats wrong. They ARE trying to ban it. Thats got nothing to do with Brown at all.

If the Vatican or Microsoft can't ban a movie, I really doubt if a pseudo-sect like Opus Dei can.

I hate watching films about books though, because it always ruins the characters I imagined, but then I like seeing them because its always interesting to see how they coped with certain bits.
