Slang Blade is still one of the coolest song titles I've seen. The ego stroking on that album gets kind of old after a while though.

jaundice has a point, the hip hop tastes of MX are, for the most part, incredibly skewed towards east coast revivalism and unadulterated worship of the albums inspiring it

the hip hop i listen to the most is pre-1998 cash money albums

pete rock is awesome, but i think that album definitely falls under the "conscious hip hop" movement, which im pretty sure is what he meant

pretty sure that album had a lot to do with ushering in the sampling of soul and jazz into the mainstream and pretty sure that without it people like kanye would be out of a job.
