where were your balls man?
Long story. :upset:

honkybrewster 03-21-2005 11:42 PM
I was actually kind of let down by CBK, even though they were still amazing. I just thought they would be the best there. The singer looked too out of it and like he didn't want to be there, but the crowd was awesome. Bane put on one of the best performances I have ever seen though. With Honor was really good as well. Performance-wise:

Bane>With Honor>CBK>HoldxFast>Silent Drive

Overall a really good show. Wish I was into the bands a little more at the time though. But I've just been getting into the newer hardcore.
Ah, bloody hell, Bane isn't playing here.

The singer was effing nuts. And pretty much the entire floor was up on stage when they played "Can We Start Again" singing along. Really surreal for me being my first hardcore show and all.

Also, during CBK, some guy jumped over the ledge of the second story and landed on my head when I wasn't paying attention. That woke me up quite well.

Wow, the venue has two floors?

El_Shiznit 03-21-2005 11:53 PM
Wow, the venue has two floors?
The second floor was tucked in a corner and was maybe 40 square feet. Nothing too outrageous.

honkybrewster 03-21-2005 11:57 PM

Oh, okay, good. Nice venues = loss of punk points.

El_Shiznit 03-22-2005 12:00 AM
Oh, okay, good. Nice venues = loss of punk points.
Most of the shows I go to are at the House Of Blues which is a nice venue. I lost all punk points a long time ago. But the HOB has good sh!t. Coming up, I'm going to see:

Rise Against
Tiger Army / Unseen
Reverend Horton Heat

All at the HOB. Works for me.

Goin' to sleep. Night all.
Plus, they said Fountains of Wayne is power pop. And Fountains of Wayne and Blink 182 sound pretty similar to me. Plus, there is no way that Blink 182 is punk in any way, shape, or form.
Fountains of Wayne and Blink 182 don't sound alike... at all.

honkybrewster 03-22-2005 12:02 AM

I'm think I'm gonna turn in too. And Shizzy, I still hate you for getting to see Tiger Army.

honkybrewster 03-22-2005 12:04 AM
Fountains of Wayne and Blink 182 don't sound alike... at all.
And YOU get the good Warped tour! We only get 2 good bands here.

Okay, so I've heard that one FoW song. Maybe I shouldn't have based it off that one. But I doubt I will be looking more into that band anyways.

DOLEMITE 03-22-2005 12:21 AM

Weird!!!

DrGolovaCroxby 03-22-2005 12:24 AM

i just put a dwarves sticker on my bass.

honkybrewster 03-22-2005 12:25 AM

I ordered a Wesley Willis sticker from Alternative Tentacles and they sent me two more for free, so I put one of those on my bass.

DrGolovaCroxby 03-22-2005 01:10 AM

now i slapped an adicts sticker under the brige of my electric guitar. it looks pretty bitchin'.

EDIT: and a judas priest sticker on my printer. :amaze:

Brain Toad 03-22-2005 01:16 AM

I went from 4 pm to 10:30 pm today renaming my mp3s to reflect track # - title style. I had to change because I had been getting file corruption from filenames being too long, and my computer making the file unreadable and uneditable.
**** school shootings are ****ed up
I just saw a tiny part on the news about it, something about it being the worst since columbine? Where was it?

sketchyjoe 03-22-2005 05:23 AM

http://www.guardian.co.uk/usa/story/0,12271,1443324,00.html

Ms Hegstrom described Weise as a quiet boy who was into goth culture, listened to heavy metal music, wore "a big old black trench coat" and "talked about death all the time".

That doesn't sound familiar.

sketchyjoe 03-22-2005 09:46 AM

To any Brits:

Have you guys seen the 8 year old on Countdown? He rocks!

Brain Toad 03-22-2005 09:49 AM

School shootings are f'ucking stupid. They blame it all on him being a goth or dressing in black, when HE F'UCKING POSTED ON A NAZI MESSAGE BOARD! I think that deserves a little more blame, but hey that's just me.

Yeah, exactly. I don't see why adults can't understand this, they seem kind of obvlivious to us and our situations these days.

Colombine was the same way, both kids we admitted nazis. But they did it because they were unpopular ande me fun of.

I think focussing your killing on blacks and christians has a little more reason behind it then being made fun of.

The FOW part of that power-pop def'n I didn't quite agree with. Although I've only heard 1 song by them, I would not say they are power-pop. For a better idea of what power-pop sounds like check out Nick Lowe, Eddie and the Hotrods, Exploding Hearts (for newer example), and stuff on BOMP! records.

You can get some of this stuff off me on soulseek.

I'd focus on christians and rich white kids

How can you pass judgement on a band after hearing but one song? But it's ok, because you mentioned Nick Lowe.

And no one's mentioned the two most important power-pop bands ever; Cheap Trick and Big Star.

Brain Toad 03-22-2005 05:15 PM

Today I got made fun of and I wear black clothes and listen to rock music. I'm going to go shoot up my school because they all hate me
