I don't have RTL, but I think I would like it the sam as MOP. 4-5 songs on each album that I like.
|
F2B is the ONLY song on RTL that stands a chance against anything on MOP.
Creeping Death > Damage Inc (even though I love both songs) And I still think Call of Ktulu is better than Orion. |
Creeping Death > Damage Inc (even though I love both songs)
And I still think Call of Ktulu is better than Orion.
Creeping Death is the best song off of RTL IMO. And one of my favorite Metallica song in general. I don't knwo which one I rather between Call of Ktutlu and Orion. I'de have to listen to both again... |
Creeping Death > Damage Inc (even though I love both songs)

Call of Ktulu > Orion any day of the week.
|
The way that Ktulu sounds all creepy is just pure greatness. The solo is also one of Kirks better solos. And the S&M version rocks hard.
|
fook me all within the hands is so kcik my aas
|
fook me all within the hands is so kcik my aas
It's meh, never really got into that song too much. |
I'ld take Ktulu over Orion but MoP over RTL. In my opinion AJFA slays them all.
|

Really? I'm not a fan of the production of ....AJFA really. And some of the songs I just can't get into much. Like Dyers Eve and Shortest Straw. And some of the stuff is a little drawn out, like [shock/horror] the blackened solo [/shock/horror] and the title track. |

AJFA is Metallica by themselves though.
Songs like Harvester of Sorrow, One, Eye of the Beholder, Dyer'ss Eve, Blackened, Shortest Straw, To Live is to Die and The Frayed Ends of Sanity (or the whole album) is what really got me into being a huge Metallica whore. |
My friend says ...AJFA is their best album, but I really don't see where he's coming from with that. There's like... no bass at all, and the production's kinda iffy, like someone said. Personally, I prefer RtL and MoP over it, but it's still better than their recent stuff.
|
AJFA is probably my favorite 'Tallica album. I've heard miniaml stuff after the black album, and I prefer James's vocals on AJFA.
|
Kill 'Em All is pretty good, but I have to say AJFA hasn't got a chance against either MOP or RTL. I prefer MOP honestly even though RTL is a really good album, and I actually reallt like Escape, good song...
|
I'd take KEA over AJFA. I just can't stand the production on AJFA.
|
U must be kidding. KEA is soo generic. Even the better songs don't stand out too much. AJFA has an epic feel to it. It just feels awesome. I used to love it more than the others but now i would say RtL is the best b/c of its rawer yet refined feel.
|
AJFA doesn't appeal to me. Some songs are better than the whole KEA album (eg. To Live Is To Die) But I'd rather listen to KEA.
|
Yea, I'd also take KEA over AJFA anyday. Well maybe except To live is to die, but I like KEA way better than all other tracks on AJFA.
NP: Hit the lights. Ahh |
I love ...AJFA, but as of lately RTL has started become my favorite Metallica CD.
|
i think RTL is the best album as a whole, even though other albums have better songs on them.
call of ktulu> orion |
I only have MOP and BA, I'm such a n00b. I gotta get more Metallica albums.
|
well what im going is im getting other bands albums cause i no metallicas music so well i practically no all the words from KEA to Black(metallica) so im getting them last
|
I'ld take Ktulu over Orion but MoP over RTL. In my opinion AJFA slays them all.
I would have to agree with this...well...I don't know..I have a hard time making up my mind. |
theyr both as good as each other but MoP is better than RtL
|
no matter how you think of all those songs, Metallica just kicks ***.
|
no matter how you think of all those songs, Metallica just kicks ***.
Yup. I change my favorite tallica songs like every week. So they're all kinda equally good. |
It's usually Damage Inc., Ride the Lightning, Metal Militia or Creeping Death for me. Rotates around those 4.
|
Wrote more songs for Exodus....
Yeah, cause you know Kirk wrote so much for Exodus..
Yea dude I'll send it your way when we get it done I'll tell you and you can give me your E-mail.
Sweet man, it's a great song to play, although I can't sing for ****, and the only singers I know are in Death bands...
Why is Ride The Lightning considered to be great? That album is crap
It's quite a claim to say Ride The Lightning is crap. Personally it's my favourite album of all time, and I don't think there will ever be another album I will hold so close. I love my Ride The Lightning. Everything about it is ****en awesome!!! Especially Trapped Under Ice and Escape, **** it's all good.
With MOP, you can listen to Master of Puppets and Battery, and think "Hey, these belong on an album together." You can listen to The Frayed Ends of Sanity and Harvestor of Sorrow and think "Hey, these belong on an album together." You can do it with Damage, Inc, and Sanitarium, Blackened and Eye of the Beholder, etc etc etc But when I see Fight Fire with Fire and Fade to Black on an album together, I think "Hmm, these don't sound like part of the same album." I can't pair any two songs from RTL and see that they belong on the same album. RTL's songs lack that quality. Maybe it's just me, but still.
There's more relation between the songs on Ride The Lightning then the songs on Master of Puppets.. How can they not go together? That's one of the reasons I love Ride The Lightning so much, it's just so well composed in my opinion. Everything about it is meant to be there, it was truly a blessing from God (At least for me, you obviously don't like the album). Although, I agree Orion is better then Call of The Ktulu, I still wouldn't want it any other way. Never been a fan of ..AJFA  +1 Trend Setter :D After listening to Kill 'em All sped up, and with a better Lead guitarist (imo), I prefer No Life 'Til Leather, even if the recording quality is about 1 Million times worse, the guitar work alone more then makes up for it. |
IMO best Metallica album ever is AJFA. Dont get me wrong, i love all there stuff before Reload but MOP(awsome album) is a bit over rated

oh j'asus! possible new material, recorded by some guys that were watching metallica rehearse from afar:

And its also hard to tell if it was just a jam or some new material. |

Dream Theater performing every song on Master of Puppets live, anyone?
http://musicfreep2p.blogcindario.com/2005/03/00530-dream-theater-master-of-metallica.html |
Yup, I had that too. It pretty much sucked.
Their Iron maiden cover was way better. |
