i recently got a 2.5/3 on a paper in a big university for an actual class, i have no idea why someone would think because a mark is out of 20 that it is less than something else out of 100 or 200 or whatever the fuck you think college papers should be out of

like have you even done any uni/college work? if you did it would be pretty clear the marking scheme is dependent on the prof and nothing else

Most of my major papers were marked well above 20. I imagine if you are getting 2.5/3 on a paper then you are doing something more specialized? Paper not meaning lab or a report or something lesser btw.

obviously papers involving extended writing tend to be out of 100

papers with discrete answers to factual qus can be out of however many qus there are or adjusted according to whatever arbitrary weighting they're given

tons of my physics classes' grades were based on work that was scored out of 5

essays are almost always 100

why are we discussing this

it was fairly specialized, but ive had plenty of general papers that were marked out of 10 and even a few that were out of 1 using decimal points instead of full numbers

anyway like i said the prof decides what the marking scheme is and if your papers are out of 50 or 20 or 100 or whatever it really doesnt say anything about the course or the paper itself so stop being such a dick head

Yeah this was just the first of 3 case studies, our term paper was officially assigned today.

I'm doing it on [I]A Clockwork Orange[/I] and Anti-Social Behavior Disorder.
