The For Carnation - S/T
The Boxer - Alligator
haha anyway, what do you think of The For Carnation? |
Haha, **** I'm tired.
The For Carnation record is good, but it doesn't compare to Slint. |
I'd agree with that. They lack some of Slint's intensity, and they're more restrained. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but Slint songs leave more of an impression. Still, I really enjoy it. Really good to read to, or walk around at night to.
I'm digging The Black Lips just now, because I'm seeing them tomorrow night. It's some pretty poorly recorded, noisy garage punk. They have some really catchy hooks, and it's pretty laidback and fun. They're supposedly amazing live, so I'm looking forward to it. This garage-y stuff always starts off with me thinkin "this kind of sucks" but the more I listen to it, the more I get into it. Times New Viking were the same. |

Man I can't get into Mirrored, even after 3 listens today. The vocals really piss me off.

The Pastels
I was going through a blog, just randomly downloading stuff, and I downloaded a Pastels album. I don't remember what the album was called, and I think it might be missing one song, so I can't find out what it's called. It sucks, because it's really awesome dreamy **** :upset: |

Pretty much the best. "Pendulum on a G-String" is awesome. I think I like it more than Rainbow. |
Marble Sheep
Good Japanese psyche band. Had a member of White Heaven |
Raspberry Beret - Prince

We should have a Japanese psychedelic rock thread.
