Yeh, realized that slowly >_>
But yeah, Prayer For Cleansing's riffs > Bridge To Solaces and August Burns Reds, if we're gonna talk about clone bands being good and bash PFC.
Bridge To Solace is a fairly different band, and I would disagree about the quality of the writing. BTS does better hardcore bits when they do hardcore and better metal riffs when they do metal.
Yeah, breakdowns are predictable in placement, as they are on every single old metalcore album. Bad tremolo parts don't exist with this band.
I'm not talking about placement so much as rhythm. August Burns Red is much strongly rhythmically, which is why they're so much fun and PFC is mediocre. The breakdowns are also faster, which makes up for any tedium from rhythmically uninteresting breakdowns. PFC were probably great and amazing for their day, but they don't particularly stand out when put against today's groups. |
Bridge To Solace has one good album. Prayer For Cleansing's one album and their EP are much better imo, much less one directional songwriting.
As for the breakdowns, yeah, the rhythms are more simplistic because its old metalcore. Listen to old Poison The Well, or freaking 7A7P ffs. And I'm pretty sure PFC started the whole MDM riff over top of a breakdown thing. To me they definitely stand out above all of the bands that ripped them off. |
BTS's first two albums are very good, and are fairly differerent from one another. Their most recent album doesn't really differentiate itself from their previous efforts, though. Like most hardcore, the tracks can blend together, though.
The fact that it's old metalcore doesn't excuse it, even though I like PTW and would like 7A7P if they had better production. Nope, the metalcore Beatles PFC are not. |
If weak production is a deciding factor for you, I'm done. This has gotten even more retarded.
Protip: Bridge To Solace isn't hardcore. |
Yeah, the audio quality of music is important to me. Retarded, neh?
Bridge To Solace is a mix between hardcore and metal. Metalcore is probably a more accurate title for them than most bands with the label. |
They don't really have that many hardcore parts though.
Like, yeah, they're a pretty good metalcore band, but calling them hardcore is a bit of a stretch. It's like calling Conducting From The Grave metalcore. |
First album is 75/25 hardcore. Second album is probably the opposite, if not a bit more in the center.

quality of music =/= quality of production |
Whoa, I hate most metalcore and even I'm starting to dig Luce

Hey, 666DiMe666. Are you still up for a good plundering of buttholes after we plunder some cruise ships?
|
I think my avatar makes it quite clear that I am.
|
mmm
buttholes |
Anyone heard the new Chariot song, this **** might actually end up dec.
Much better then anything Norma Jean could put out, minus O'God. |
quality of music =/= quality of production
but the listening experience is proportional to both the quality of music and the quality of production. I don't care how good you are at guitar, if your distortion has too much gain you still sound like ****. |
gain 10
treble 10 mid 3 bass 5 |
Whoa, I hate most metalcore and even I'm starting to dig Luce
I'm starting to get bored with metalcore myself...I need something new to kick me back into it. |
yeah like i'm tired of metalcore and deathcore so i'm trying to find another genre until something worthy while kicks the rut
|
You guys like a lot of really gay ****.
|
Yo Retired do you like Everything Is Alive, Everything Is Breathing, Nothing Is Dead, and Nothing Is Bleeding by The Chariot?
Yes the album title is really pretentious. |
quality of music =/= quality of production
