If you do get a Tom Araya, its such a great bass, 35" Scale, EMG 35DC pups, EMG 3 band with freq. pre-amp, thru-neck construction, Ebony fretborad, and a 2 octave range.

I'm hoping they put out some nice basses because of the anniversary. But I have been eyeing that one up :thumb:

There not the prettiest basses but they sound incredble, and are nice and comfy in your hands.

I really wish I had one of those, and I associate it with cool music

PaulSimonon 11-29-2004 03:20 PM

Man, Bongos have changed me mind about basswood.

Mitchell Royce 11-29-2004 03:20 PM

Hey, I know some of you guys have been less than receptive to basswood. This bass is made of it. Never played one, but the toilet seat shape is just too much for me. Really not my kind of thing.

Edit: Damn, Paul beat me to it.

PaulSimonon 11-29-2004 03:22 PM

Between the bongo and SRX basses, I'm starting to like basswood a lot.

Mitchell Royce 11-29-2004 03:22 PM

A lot of G&L L2500's are made of basswood as well. they only have an ash cap.

PaulSimonon 11-29-2004 03:24 PM

Why would you have an ash cap?

Omega Red 11-29-2004 03:30 PM

quilted maple cap

Mitchell Royce 11-29-2004 03:30 PM

For looks. I'm serious, when I found that out I was shocked as well. There are some that are solid ash but they seem to be mostly from the early 90's(at least the ones I've seen). I'm still gonna get one.

Edit: Ugh, I cannot stand quilted maple anymore. It's so terribly overdone. Mutant maple is where it's at. With a black to trans-silver burst. Beatiful.
