it helps us make better ones via experiences of others with people, products, and services
hate to use dating sites as an example, so I'll say look at amazon. Customer reviews on products. before the internet word of mouth was dominant. A sample size of 100 is more accurate than the size of 1. The opinions of the many generally outweigh the opinions of the few.
how are amazon customer reviews or just about anything on the internet that is not a formal publication not "word of mouth" |
the internet also means that people like you, and to some extent me, can hide in the comfort of their homes and do the majority of socialisation online rather than go out and experience the world. sure you can meet people and make good connections but you can also make more meaningful connections with people outside of the internet if you persist a little instead of just making some sweeping judgement about those you meet outside of the internet
|
it means that cultural traditions are more for special situations, as I've stated.
reviewing people on the internet doesn't work and can't because getting personal can equate to a lot of potential trouble with anyone you know irl there is no perceived risk with strangers, however. |
wtf are you talking about
brent loses his marbles |

they are, but theres more of them available sample size of 50 is the norm in marketing research for getting a decent idea of anything |
technology has alienated us though, we are becoming asphyxiated in the depths of our own egos, we do not think together, cognitive dissonance is something to be considered at all times now, we do not need to be cohesive for survival
|
my point is that if the majority of people are normally right then perhaps the vast majority of people over thousands of years who have valued marriage know better than you, brent

we are more connected to people - ie we can make contact through facebook, internet forums, etc but who can say that these things have really aided our social lives? |
it depends on their level of specialization stevie
people who review products are usually more emphatic and knowledgable of a category of products |
wtf does that have to do with marriage or traditions
|

well comparing our history there is little difference between considering the rise of the internet and the advent of electricity, within the smallest bit of recent past because of things like these communications our need for a social life has become almost nonexistent, maybe that is unhealthy. |
i don't think aaron could have predicted that him briefly mentioning his wedding would have resulted in yet another late night brent gang-bang
he'd probably just smile that goofy smile and then bang his cute fiancee |

I can't value traditions or marriage when the internet exists
when I was talking about biproducts, I can use the internet as being a biproduct of shaping why I believe marriage, and traditions in general are horse shit marriage has little to appeal to me at this age you've made me aware personal experiences in specific situations are obviously things that the internet doesn't really have unless you specifically communicate with others whom are older and more experienced in certain ways. |
brent must still be feeling pretty confident at this point, he hasn't posted any 4chan pics or replied to someone's post by just posting their avatar
