Ew... minors *shudders*

ChodaBoy 08-23-2005 10:01 AM

Now that Brum's gone. We can make accusations about him and these kids! :)

Brew 08-23-2005 01:09 PM

GurS 08-23-2005 02:41 PM

CALLING ALL MX UKERS WITH A WILDLY DIFFERENCIATING AND ECCENTRIC MUSIC TASTE

I, your very own IAJP, propose this.

I shall choose one person with a wide musical spectrum, and send them a mixtape. Not just any mixtape though, before I hear you cry. Oh no. This is were the random part comes in.

I was thinking of making a mix CD, CD tracklist, and a little crazy album art cover and all, of some random stuff. Not random like "Pink Floyd - Alan's Psychadelic Breakfast". Oh no, I mean some of the most disparate and decidely crazy music you will ever hear.

So far, I am thinking the following artists:
Hank Williams: Old Time Country music,
Miles Davis: Free/Cool/Hard Bop/Chicago Jazz,
Elvis Costello: New Wave / Pop - Punk roots,
Sly & The Family Stone: Classic Funk / Soul,
The L7: Riot Grrrl,
Grandmaster Flash: Classic Rap / Golden Age Hip Hop.
And many more no doubt.

If you are at all interested in this venture, do not hesitate to contact me on an IM:

MSN: iomiangushendrixpage66_6@ hotmail.com
AIM: IAJP89.

THIS IS NOT A CHANCE FOR A SNEAKY FREE CD, I WANT TO IMPROVE PEOPLE'S MUSIC TASTE, AND EVEN INTRODUCE THEM TO NEW BANDS.

People I had/have in mind:
Ben,
Johnny (he's on the "Maybe" list, veering to the "No" list),

If you want this oppurtunity, contact me, and I will sort something out. This is for people with genuinely curious musical habbits.

Napalm Death to Willie Nelson, Blur to Faithless. None of the pretender crap.

Thanks for reading.:)

my musical taste's about as wide as Kate Moss.

ChodaBoy 08-23-2005 05:20 PM

Is that sitting down, or in bed?

IAJP 08-23-2005 05:20 PM

Is she that morbidly skinny one married the smack city?

GurS 08-23-2005 06:23 PM

 (in referral to your wide music taste thingy. That's me all over)

IAJP 08-23-2005 06:29 PM

We shall talk business...

GurS 08-24-2005 05:31 AM

Following on from Craig's awesome CD idea...

maybe, we should make an MXUK mix CD? where each one of the regs puts forward a song which they really like that others perhaps are not familiar with?

Maybe not. I dunno. My medicines produce a stoned-like effect on me.

Which is good :)

IAJP 08-24-2005 05:48 AM

That would be awesome.

We all upload a song or two, then we listen to the album as a coherent whole and decide upon it.

Good idea that actually. :)

GurS 08-24-2005 06:16 AM

thanks :)

I'm thinking some of that neo-classical piano stuff that i sent you once, and maybe some "the streets" :)

moaner 08-24-2005 06:21 AM

I'll be giving some of the most psycadelic, obscure stuff i can find for you

or better yet, some Simon & Garfunkel

GurS 08-24-2005 06:25 AM

S&G = rawk. Wednesday Morning, 3AM - WHAT A FUGGIN ALBUM.

sketchyjoe 08-24-2005 06:37 AM

I'd be interested in that though I have a pretty wide taste in music already.

Out of those you mentioned I already listen to:
Hank Williams: Old Time Country music,
Miles Davis: Free/Cool/Hard Bop/Chicago Jazz,
Elvis Costello: New Wave / Pop - Punk roots,
Grandmaster Flash: Classic Rap / Golden Age Hip Hop.

And I tried L7 but it wasn't really my thing.

I was also thinking some incredible heavy Death Metal?

Hank Williams,.

moaner 08-24-2005 06:52 AM

Or, i could feel really mean and put somehting in it that even i can't stand.

Yes.

IAJP 08-24-2005 08:29 AM

Does anyone have any ideas?

I think this is quite a cool idea :)

If we all uploaded a song or two onto one area (me being computer illiterate dont even know if this is possible) but um yeah, I like this idea :)

And every time you listen to our compiled album you will be obliged to tell us all whilst doing a dance
