I hope zippyshare Neva goes. I use it a lot for house music.

robertsona 04-16-2012 08:11 PM

are there any non-high profile users who are nonetheless alpha

the process that led to you being able to have a computer that renders complex things quickly is what caused global warming

shitty deal

NEEDTOPOST 04-16-2012 08:41 PM

do you guys still use torrents or what, are they cracking down on that shit

i remember a landlord of mine getting a message from an ISP when i was downloading stuff and i was just like "oops it was an accident", i was worried the feds were gonna take me away forever

Gorgon 04-16-2012 08:42 PM

I use torrents all the time

I don't think it's as big a deal in canada as in the states

fingers mccoy 04-16-2012 08:43 PM

i got in trouble cause a friend downloaded one of those obviously dodgy torrents of a dexter box set

just a slap on the wrist letter but it was my mum's place

otherwise, nah, and i've torrented plenty of stuff

friends of mine got their internet cut off for dling photoshop

TimJim 04-16-2012 08:44 PM

i use torrents alot, if you use private trackers and are active in the community you can claim that its filesharing with friends instead of with random people, which is technically legal. hence why waffles and what are getting bigger.

i have passthepopcorn for movies, tv-torrents for series, and what.cd for music/programmes. though i dont download programmes because thats scary and the cracking software usually isnt reliable

my ISP hasnt ever sent me letters but i believe they may have throttled the speed because its not nearly as fast as it used to be

TimJim 04-16-2012 08:47 PM

ps using a canadian proxy is a good way too, in canada its 100% legal to download torrents of any kind

NEEDTOPOST 04-16-2012 08:47 PM

what are private trackers

also, is avoiding "prosecution" as simple as changing the file name? otherwise how do they keep track of what to pursue as copyrighted material and what not

if so, why don't people just send out torrents through email and shit with weird filenames just like "movie1"

robertsona 04-16-2012 08:47 PM

DO YOU HAVE A PASSTHEPOPCORN INVITE

juuust wondering
the process that led to you being able to have a computer that renders complex things quickly is what caused global warming
not necessarily

if the population were smaller it wouldn't be a problem

guess what should be smaller

Gorgon 04-16-2012 08:52 PM

but hooooow

BethanyLizard 04-16-2012 08:56 PM

ive never received any type of threat over filehosting, nothing at all in the nature of some of the stuff you guys talk about. i've pirated a good bit of vsts a few years ago when i was into that sort of thing

i got a Skrillex EP taken off of my blog by a coporate enityty tho once

TimJim 04-16-2012 08:58 PM

private trackers are ones that arent public, like demonoid, thepiratebay, isohunt, etc. you need invites to join the community and the invites are hard to come by

robertsona: yes i think so, lemme double check

TimJim 04-16-2012 08:58 PM

i have one invite left robbie, gimme a gmail to hook you up

Gorgon 04-16-2012 09:01 PM

just get an interview with the site instead of relying on invites
that's how I got in

robertsona 04-16-2012 09:05 PM

this seems so shady haha

robertsona 04-16-2012 09:06 PM

i wonder how hard it must be to keep a ratio on a film site tho

i mean music can be hard, even, but movies are way larger and stuff

i mean i'll be fine and im keeping the necessary ratio on waffles without much problem

but ya know

TimJim 04-16-2012 09:07 PM

its easy as hell, just leave them seed, i have a 1.61 ratio downloading whatever i want with 70GB up and 41GB downloaded. only bummer is the space they take up on the HDD

robertsona 04-16-2012 09:08 PM

TimJim 04-16-2012 09:16 PM
if anyone needs invites to What.CD and hasnt been banned just lemme know, i have a few and i get a bunch every month

waffles banned me for calling them nazi mods and saying the community sucks on the what.cd forums. i had a 200GB buffer and 8 invites to send lol
page turned

robertsona 04-16-2012 09:16 PM

aw

im stuck with waffles for now tho i guess

which, to be honest: totally fine with me...i think

edit: oh

blockhead 04-16-2012 09:22 PM

I got a warning letter from Fox for downloading Predators. The torrent was fake and just sent them my Ip I think. Never had any other problems though.

Soulseek and torrents still work great for music I don't know why you guys are having so many problems mediafire and megaupload aren't the only pirating resources step it up bros.

TimJim 04-16-2012 09:25 PM

slsk is too hard to navigate and while its good for underground stuff, its hard to get a half decent bittrate for anything
