Sph 02-16-2006 06:56 AM

That would be cool... if I didn't live halfway across the planet.

Jev 02-16-2006 09:41 AM

Can't wait to hear the new stuff :D

Britton 02-16-2006 12:32 PM
Yeah, if he can find a backing track with just the guitars taken away, that would be cool.

By the way Britton, what amp are you getting?
I'm getting the 100 watt VOX valve tronix

I love the amp modeling on it. And plus it's a hybrid...so it has that great warm sound to it.

I used to know harverster of sorrow...But I've kinda forgotton everything except the intro. another fun one to play is disposable heros

MRDuCran 02-16-2006 12:40 PM

I can't wait for Download either. I'm wondering who's headlining Sunday since Tallica are Sat, not many bands can top them imo in terms of big metal bands.

Jev 02-16-2006 12:42 PM

My friend keeps telling me it's AC/DC. I'd believe him but he told me the same thing last year and the year before.

MRDuCran 02-16-2006 12:54 PM

Could be, maybe they go for old classics on the main stagee or something, like Black Sabbath last year.

Ibanex0110 02-16-2006 01:01 PM

I imagine the download festival, along with anything else they play will be on tv or video, or be able to be downloaded online. Either way, i'm sure whatever they play will be sweet

Jev 02-16-2006 01:47 PM

They normally show a programme about it a week after on Channel 4 here in the UK but I don't know about America. It'd be great if it was posted online.

MRDuCran 02-16-2006 01:51 PM

The show highlights a week or so after but last year they sucked, plays all the ghey bands and no LoG, Slayer, Nightwish, Slipknot...I think.

I know the Metallica video of Enter Sandman with JJ is avaliable easily.

Jev 02-16-2006 02:28 PM

They showed Slayer and Slipknot for sure.

PepsiMetal 02-16-2006 02:34 PM
I know the Metallica video of Enter Sandman with JJ is avaliable easily.
They should have put out creeping death or seek and destroy. Joey actually changed the beat and it sounded better. Enter sandman was same as with lars except it had a masked drummer. :(

MRDuCran 02-16-2006 02:48 PM

They showed Slipknot and Slayer? I must of forgot.

Pepsi - I did download all the mp3's ages ago but I can't remeber them, I think I'll get them again. :thumb:

Not unless we pay for those kinds of channels. Which my father doesn't pay for. Oh well. I can wait for Metallica to tour America.

Britton 02-16-2006 03:39 PM

Somewhere i heard that you have to pay some sorta tax for the BBC? is that true?

I loved JJ's drumming...it just made Tallica sound so much more...Fresh
Not unless we pay for those kinds of channels. Which my father doesn't pay for. Oh well. I can wait for Metallica to tour America.
Well you're a lot more patient than I am. :p

I don't care who I have to rob, I'm going to see them when they tour.

PepsiMetal 02-16-2006 04:25 PM
I loved JJ's drumming...it just made Tallica sound so much more...Fresh
Yup, totally agree. It was a nice change from lars' beats.

 I really want to see them again.

I remember when I went to get to tickets from them. My father and I got to the venue at 4 in the morning and sat in the car till 7. Then people came to give writsbands, and were handed out raffle tickets... what was lame is those raffle tickets determined your spot in line. And then all the people who got there after 8ish had to wait till all the people with wrist bands bought tickets.

I ended up with the highest level tickets.. but since my dad is handicap, we got to cut infront of everyone, and got handicap seats which were right about mid level.

Steve M. 02-16-2006 06:25 PM

Rick Rubin is producing the next 'tallica album :o

How ****ING COOL IS THAT?!!!
They should have put out creeping death or seek and destroy. Joey actually changed the beat and it sounded better. Enter sandman was same as with lars except it had a masked drummer. :(
I have to disagree with that man. I've seen the videos and Joey sounded like complete ****. He was uber sloppy whether or not he can do double bass or not.

PepsiMetal 02-16-2006 08:13 PM
I have to disagree with that man. I've seen the videos and Joey sounded like complete ****. He was uber sloppy whether or not he can do double bass or not.
Yea he sounded more sloppy during that metallica set, but I didn't mind it on a few songs where he added double bass. It sounded good, I didn't have time to think about sloppyness and it wasn't that bad. :p

Actually drum sounds of that show sound horrible. It sounds like he's hitting hard pillows or something. But it would be awesome if that show was recorded in a studio.

BLS_Infernus 02-16-2006 08:17 PM

To me it looked like James came over to him to tell him what to hit because he looked clueless

It's official guys, Rick Rubin is producing the next Metallica album.

PepsiMetal 02-16-2006 08:29 PM

To me it looked like James came over to him to tell him what to hit because he looked clueless
Nah, that would be disrespectful. Plus james is a nice guy these days.

He probably came over to tell him good job or keep it up, or something like that. Joey was probably piss nervous there too.
www.metallica.com

Well he was good for Slayer and Johnny Cash, so he'll be good for tallica too. But where is this news article I dont see it?

Thank you god...no Bob Rock. Maybe Rick can do some hot stuff with them. I know he has worked good for Slayer in the past and maybe and can turn out some great stuff for Metallica.

bottom of the page man

PepsiMetal 02-16-2006 08:34 PM

Oh ok, lol, I though it was only pictures updates. That'll be sweet then. Most people blame Bob Rock for too many commercialized albums, so we'll see what happens with this one.

Holy Crap!!
Where did Bob Rock go; well i'm glad of that. Rick Rubin is the man behind "Reing in Blood", "Californication", "Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magik", "Danzig " produced the best works of SOAD, The Mars Volta, Jay Z even Slipknot.

I can see something good coming out of this.

PepsiMetal 02-16-2006 08:37 PM

Bob Rock is off to produce new Britney Spears album. :)

dr._feelgood 02-16-2006 09:35 PM

This is awesome, Rick Rubin is my favorite producer.

PepsiMetal 02-16-2006 10:06 PM
Linkage?
I was just being a smartass. We all know Britney Spear's career is dead. :p

And this news is quite good, at least this album will have solos.

6stringslinger 02-16-2006 11:05 PM

ok, I am a little late and kind of slow due to heavy drug use...but is Bob Rock not producing the new LP

6stringslinger 02-16-2006 11:11 PM

Now I wish I can go back and dig up the post where I said it would be cool to hear them with Rick Rubin from prolly 6-7 months ago!!

This is going to be cool....

I wonder did they have a mutual split or what??

Britton 02-16-2006 11:39 PM

Wow! this is awesome! Rick is producing the new album!

I can't wait to hear what him and ROb do on this new record

6stringslinger 02-16-2006 11:47 PM
