People who listen to few musical genres usually ARE fags I agree. I mean, it's common sense, most people only listen to some variation of pop, and those people usually suck (at least in my opinion, since music is my only passion so if somebody doesn't like actual music they're boring imo). However, there are exceptions, like stormrider who only listens to the old-schoolest of old-schooling thrash death armageddon and is probably still a cool dude.

its not betrayal, i still love a lot of death and black metal bands, i guess I just moved on. For me, it gets kinda boring listening to the same stuff over and over again.

But then again, that's just me :)

I really do think it's betrayal I think you're a cool dude and like you a lot, but this pedastal bullshit I'm not into. I'll be the first to admit all I really listen to is metal; I don't care to listen to other forms of music because it doesn't appeal to me, and I'd rather take the scorn of being called a closeminded prick than an openminded fool that listens to music for cool points.

Besides a little tiny bit of Beethoven and a lot of Tom Waits, **** off, non-metal.

But, I was more talking about someone like me who listens to a variety subgenres within metal (most of my listenings), then some folk(bands closely related) and miscallaneous old-school pop, rock stuff. I mean, that's not what most peple would consider many genres of music and look at how I turned out :-D

Also, take a look at the last.fm thread. Everyone now and then someone only has metal on their charts and you get some crappy comments of 'omg nice variety', but then the next person who only has rap, hip hop stuff doesn't get any sort of comment because apparently listening to only hip hop and rap is being more open minded then simply listening to only metal.

That's becuase hip-hop is populated mostly by negroes.
