Idk I think you'd atleast enjoy their first album due to the botch style riffing they have.
Yeah Nightmares is good, Ruin and Hollow Crown only have a handfull of stuff I can take, then it just gets boring. |
Ruin has like two boring songs, but overall it's bossssss.
|
what songs are boring?
|
You'll Find Safety and Always.
|
ill agree on you'll find safety but always rips dude
|
I don't like that song IDK.
|
ruin is the only album of theirs i havent listened to
i think im happy with what ive heard its not like their best material/song is on Ruin |
you need to hear nightmares tbh
|
Buried At Sea and Heartless are their best songs imo.
|
you need to hear nightmares tbh
huh? ive heard it and its my fav of theirs |
the evil riff at the end of buried at sea pwns every time
huh? ive heard it and its my fav of theirs
sorry i misread your post |
Yeah, that riff (such a simple description but I know exactly what you mean) is ****ing awesome.
Also, seriously, Sam's vocals on Ruin are so much more ridiculous than the Dead Swans split and Hollow Crown. Plus I love the sludgy parts and post-metal riffs on Ruin. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIvxqZgpB-k hxc trust me bru |
sounds like hes hurting himself at times on Hollow Crown
|
Yeah, that riff (such a simple description but I know exactly what you mean) is ****ing awesome.
ef yeah, fun song to play yourself as well lots of odd timed riffs |
Seriously, when the video for Buried At Sea came out, I was like, wait, this is Architects?! WHAT?! They got RIDICULOUS... they already WERE ridiculous.
Also, I'm not nearly a good enough guitarist to play anything they play lol. I love screaming along with Ruin though, everything fits within my range, even his clean singing. :D |
i have yet to try doing vocals to it, i guess i just enjoy listening to his to try and put mine over it
beer and risk, peace |
I just like singing along with things lol. In no way do I think I'm anywhere near as good as Sam at that type of vox, though I do draw a lot of influence from him.
/jealous of beer and risk |
it was fun, even though i got annihilated
|
you obviously didn't get australia
|
Australia is nothing, Europe is the first place to go for son.
|
Plus I love the sludgy parts and post-metal riffs on Ruin.
How can you say that and claim to not like Always? That and Heartless have their two best post-influenced moments |
Because Always is boring, idk.
|
pg.1337
|
lollerz
|
just sayin.
and yeah Sam's vocals on Ruin are definitely ballin. |
Yeah, dude's got skills.
|
it's an effin shame people compare him to Ollie.
|
IDK, Oli's hardcore vocals sound like a weaker version of Sam's higher hardcore vocals.
But Oli's a ****ing good vocalist himself, tbh. Not hardcore style, but his shrieks, his gutturals, and his rasp mid range are ****ing POWERFUL. |
mappy its nigh time we just give up trying to defend count your blessings
|
powerful's one thing, and he has that in spades - I just don't like the feel, the aesthetic of the sound. Whereas Sam maintains a balance between power and appeal.
Some of the vocals on Suicide Season are just poor |
