bassist_for_a_band 07-22-2006 07:32 PM

yea I wouldn't mind being able to drive, but there's a lot to it... not to mention all of the money. I might see about my temps but I'm not sure about a license or car yet. I can get a job in February, but depending on how school is going, I might or might not look for a job. Either way, I'll start one next summer for sure, and start saving up
I just want to focus on school if I need to... the job will come second

bassist_for_a_band 07-22-2006 07:34 PM
I need to get my license before school starts. I wanna be able to drive by myself so bad.
I live about 100-200 feet from the school

I cross my street
walk about 30 feet down the street
about 50 feet down an alleyway by a small church on the corner
cross the school parking lot/driveway (about 20 feet)
and i'm there.

Chilly-Bean-Bop 07-22-2006 07:34 PM
ehh, I wouldn't worry about speakers and whanot... too much hassle. as long as they work, I'm fine with it. I'd definitely make sure it played CDs, though

as long as it ran nice and looked okay, I'd be pretty much fine with it, even though I'd always want it to be best it can be
I would need mine to have a tape player, for plugging in mp3 players.

Justin: Yeah, that's a lot more convenient. My brother liked it a lot more.

I think that Florida driving age for liscences (sp?) was raised to 17, so that really really sucks.

bassist_for_a_band 07-22-2006 07:35 PM

Oh yea... If I had an mp3 player or something, and needed the car kit, then I'd want the cassette player... but I'd probably end up with a CD player, if I could get one

TMA 07-22-2006 07:35 PM

Ha! Oregon's license age is 18. It's so lame.
You know what? Oregon is lame in general. At least the Laws are lame... damn this place!

Chilly-Bean-Bop 07-22-2006 07:36 PM

Are you serious?

I thought 17 was bad.

bassist_for_a_band 07-22-2006 07:36 PM

wow, I thought it was bad here
15.5 for temps (might be raised to 16)
16 for license
then
18 for marriage, smoking, that stuff
21 for alcohol

but all I'm worried about, all I need to be worried about, is driving.

Chilly-Bean-Bop 07-22-2006 07:37 PM

15 for permit
17 license
18 yeah, marriage smoking and ****
21 alcohol

everything's the same except for license.

TMA 07-22-2006 07:38 PM

16 for permit (I think... might be 15)
18 for license
18 for smoking/marriage
21 for alcohol

And then we have outlawed casinos (except for on indian reservations) and we have outlawed fireworks that either fly or explode. Hence: The lamest 4th of July in the states.

bassist_for_a_band 07-22-2006 07:40 PM

wow, not even fireworks? that's gotta suck

I think the 18/21 legalities might be nationwide...? I've never been sure

TMA 07-22-2006 07:41 PM

Yeah.
Except the age of consent is different in other states, I think

Well I'm about a 10 minute drive from mine, so walking won't get me far.

I wish I lived closer to my school though.

Although, I do have a donut shop right down the street. A minute walk at most. :)

Texas:

15 permit
16 license
17 sex
18 same as rest

nobodyblossomsforever 07-22-2006 07:44 PM

i dont think Paradoxal Conformity would fit me.

and it's a Mazda3, 06, red

Chilly-Bean-Bop 07-22-2006 07:44 PM

No gay marriage in Florida either. Lammmme.

Greg: Little late there.

bassist_for_a_band 07-22-2006 07:45 PM

Yea I live right by the school (school starts at 8:10... I can wake up at 8 and not be late)

but I live way too far from anything else
such as stores, marts, hangouts... whatever I'd go to often
and it sucks on a bike or with skates
especially when there's hills on the way to some places

Chilly-Bean-Bop 07-22-2006 07:47 PM

I live probably 5 minutes from my school.

It starts at 9:30, but I go at 8:30 for a music class in the morning.

Same here in Oregon.
But it was a close race. But it was banned in the end. Which is lame as hell. I personally think there are some things that everybody has the right to do.

TMA 07-22-2006 07:48 PM

I'm a good 40 minutes from my school... my school is actually in a different city than where I live!

Chilly-Bean-Bop 07-22-2006 07:48 PM

Yeah, I honestly don't get why people are against homosexuals. It's really mean.

Was it the country that just had another thing on gay marriage? I can't remember if it was the nation or our state.

I agree.
I actually know a family who was afraid of loosing their foster son because they moved here from Florida, he was HIV positive but it left his body as he got older (that can happen to people who are born with it as he was), and that would have made him "more suitable" for adoption, and Florida doesn't allow gay couples to adopt.
It got big national news coverage and sh*t. He's a cool kid, and I'm good friends with his brother, who, in a messed up turn of events, had to move back to Florida because he was turning 18 and to get any college benefits, he had to be living in Florida.

DJ Ducksauce 07-22-2006 07:52 PM

I'm not sure where to stand in the gay marriage thingy.

gay people shouldnt be able to adopt either imo

Chilly-Bean-Bop 07-22-2006 07:59 PM

Ooh, I get it now.

I think it's cruel not giving people a right to be married to someone you love. It's almost like taking away all their happiness, which is just wrong.

Matt: Why?

DJ Ducksauce 07-22-2006 07:59 PM

Why not Mattay?
