Haven't seen you in ages, you're like the original Metallica thread spammer :p

fatbandit 09-02-2005 06:30 AM

Me? Spam?

I only came in here to sort out long n00b debates with one swift answer.

I don't spam.

I resent that comment.

On topic: So, I love me some Cliff Burton... Still not sure how he sounded like that with so few effects.

I would love to see this

Huber 09-02-2005 07:47 AM

I've never heard of Flux. What kind of stuff do they play?

Jev 09-02-2005 07:57 AM

 there's a movie on Channel 4 right now called For Whom The Bell Tolls.

When my dad saw that he started singing it.

I left the room.

Jev 09-02-2005 08:02 AM

I expected it to be a WWII movie or something, It's a "Romantic action drama about a teacher in the Spanish civil war"

Jev 09-02-2005 08:20 AM

Hmm, I see some links between the song and movie, like at the end when that dude dies, like the second verse of FWTBT.

fatbandit 09-02-2005 08:28 AM

Well, wasn't it originally a book? The film would take artistic license probably.

:smash:

Jev 09-02-2005 08:30 AM

The film was made in 1943, I think it's an adaptation.

clairvoyant 09-02-2005 09:36 AM

Ah. Whats that movie or whatever from the One music video?

BassMasterMike88 09-02-2005 09:41 AM

I think it was based on a war novel "Johnny got his gun" I think and they ended up paying royalties to use it for the video, which is awesomely depressing.

fatbandit 09-02-2005 09:42 AM

Johnny Got A Gun.

I think.

Ya, it's called johnny got his gun. i've heard they open up some live shows with the theme from it

fatbandit 09-02-2005 11:18 AM

I know they open with The Good The Bad and The Ugly by Ennio Morricone.
Ya, it's called johnny got his gun. i've heard they open up some live shows with the theme from it
When I saw them, they opened with "The Ecstacy of Gold" and had parts of The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly playing on the screens.

"The Ecstacy of Gold" is definately their usual intro.

I listened to that in the car a few times and when I would walk in the room sometimes my god-mother would start singing "For Whom the Bells Toll". I would turn right around a walk out.

Jev 09-02-2005 12:35 PM
Ah. Whats that movie or whatever from the One music video?
As said, One is based on Johnny got his gun. The film I watched earlier was the movie version of the book FWTBT.

SonorKen 09-02-2005 12:52 PM

Maybe this is a prophecy of things to come?

The show is through
The metal is gone
It is time to hit the road
Another town
Another gig
Again we will explode
Hotel rooms and motorways
Life out here is raw
But we will never stop
We will never quit
cause we are Metallica

Jev 09-02-2005 01:38 PM

If that's true, then somebody in the band's gonna explode soon *wishes it's Lars"

DBoons Ghost 09-02-2005 01:51 PM

I wish I could stop myself from trolling this thread.

I should admit that I've purchased every album and listened to every album hoping and praying.

It's not like I just talk out of my butthole. So, I think because I did buy every album they have ever made it gives me the right to criticize.

I also have an old LP import I think might be worth money. It's the single release of Creeping Death, and it has Am I Evil and Blitzkreig on the B side. The cover is similar to Ride the Lightning. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

The Ecstasy of Gold is the song that plays over the PA when they are walking out. Then they usually open with Blackened.
