This is the last thursday before school starts again on monday, these past 3 days have included getting broken up with, drugs, great america, 1 lb burgers, boredom, virgin suicides, guitar hero, people living at my house, and getting the new sonic youth.

Its been a fun less-than-a-week.

Just got 4 tickets to see Muse. I'm really about 3 years late in seeing them, but it'll do. :)

Kyle 06-15-2006 07:25 AM

That's cool, I'm seeing them at Reading this year. I've never liked them that much, but the new album is pretty sweet.

pixiesfanyo 06-15-2006 08:23 AM

Anyone hear the DEP cover of "Like I Love You" by JT.

Insanely good.

Kyle 06-15-2006 08:31 AM

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m54jCKrE7fs&search=dillinger%20escape%20plan - this is one of the worst quality videos I've seen on youtube, but the audio is all good. It's the JT cover with Mike Patton.

They put on a good live show. :)

Also: I've never felt worried at all during a gig. There's nothing dangerous about metal shows, not here, anyway. Not even at the most blasphemous like Belphegor or the heaviest like Nile. Well, just stay out of the pit. Gigs usually have a friendly atmosphere for me.

I have the oppertunity to see The Fiery Furnaces, is it worth it?

FA 06-15-2006 03:14 PM

meh, maybe. Eleanor Friedberger??

Interstate 06-15-2006 04:14 PM

I went out with mates from work to see the England game (which was pretty crap). One of my mates (who now works at another branch) got totally wasted and I literally had to drag him home (and he's about twice the size of me).
He tried to drag a chair into Burger King toilets on the way home so that he could sit down to take a piss.

Happymeal 06-15-2006 04:49 PM

Yeah World Cup fever's all over my school, half of the peeps in my classes skip to watch the games in the caf. I'm not a big soc .. football fan cause there's no way in hell the flip team would make it to that tournament, so I'm rooting for Spain, I guess. Either that team or them Japs.

Little Man being Erased 06-15-2006 05:01 PM

Australia ftw. I seriously think they have a good chance of making the second round. I'm looking forward to the match against Brazil coming up in a couple of days.

EDIT: it sucks though because the games are on at ridiculous hours of the morning over here, so it's difficult to watch the games.

Iron Bug 06-15-2006 08:27 PM

I heard Clap Your Hands Say Yeah! on the Office tonight.

cb240 06-15-2006 08:56 PM

The NBC version of The Office is garbage. They took something that was already genius and made it awful. Like if Fall Out Boy covered Dylan or something.

Lies. It's good in its own way.

Iron Bug 06-15-2006 09:11 PM

Agreed.

Zappa 06-15-2006 09:29 PM

Fall Out Boy could play Dylan.

cb240 06-15-2006 09:31 PM

I'm sure they could, but it would suck. Hard. Like everything else they do.

Tangy zizzle 06-15-2006 09:32 PM

Anybody can do Dylan, but why would you?

Hey Zaphoid

cb240 06-15-2006 09:33 PM

Exactly the point of my analogy. Why would anyone try to improve on the perfection that is The Office [BBC]?

Zappa 06-15-2006 09:33 PM

Yo.

Tangy zizzle 06-15-2006 09:36 PM

s'happnin'?

Zappa 06-15-2006 09:37 PM

Not a lot. Might be going to Colorado on Sunday, I still haven't got it all sorted out. Tomorrow I'm playing scrabble with some cool nerdy chicks and then going to record with my ska band.

Tangy zizzle 06-15-2006 09:39 PM

Full plate huh. Enjoy that.

Zappa 06-15-2006 09:41 PM

I'd really like to take that Colorado trip. I would be joining 5 friends driving for about 24 hours and then staying a couple weeks in a house down there. Would probably be a hoot.

Tangy zizzle 06-15-2006 09:54 PM

Yeah sounds like a riot. Got an over-ager to score booze from?

Tangy zizzle 06-15-2006 10:04 PM
So who's completely fucking jealous that the Touch and Go 25th anniversary concert is in Chicago?
Me. Shellac, Calexico, SCRATCH MUTHAFUGGIN' ACID, Enon, Ted Leo, Killdozer... that's one helluva line up.

Zappa 06-15-2006 10:58 PM

Most of us don't drink.

biografiend 06-16-2006 12:06 AM
