Electrelane is a pretty cool band. A friend of mine is starting a band with two other chicks, and she told me to listen to Electrelane to here their inspiration. Honestly, not bad stuff.
Yeah, they're sweet. When I saw them supporting the Arcade Fire I already knew of them, but they blew me away live. It was pretty epic.
i learned another Television song, this time its "Guiding Light"

I intend to figure out that whole album someday, but it's gonna be fucking hard because the bassist just does whatever the hell he feels like and no two riffs are ever the same
That's art.

Yeah seems girls love this band. New album is nice.

Finally got my hands on Caetano Veloso's Cê. Not bad makes me think of Uns. Also Calvin Johnson and the Sons of Soil.

The North Sea - Exquisite Idols

YDload 05-27-2007 12:14 AM

i almost figured out how to play the entire Marquee Moon album on bass but there's just this little tricky part four minutes into "Torn Curtain" thats like a guitar solo with quick chord changes underneath. i mean it's probably no Giant Steps but still difficult for me :(

Thanks 05-27-2007 01:04 AM

Miles Davis' music is very special to me.

YDload 05-27-2007 01:18 AM

Architecture in Helsinki - In Case We Die

I think this is a sweet album, but only really a fraction of what the band are capable of. After seeing them live yesterday they have so much more bite to them and a lot of the super-twee stuff is really toned down. The new stuff sounded great, I hope they emulate their live sound more in the next album.

Also getting back into The Decemberists and Hot Cross.

Phil 05-27-2007 07:28 AM

When is their new album coming out by the way? Fingers crossed is a better album, I think anyway.

Happymeal 05-27-2007 07:52 AM

Feist - The Reminder

"The Limit to Your Love" is just too lovely.

Bukowski 05-27-2007 07:57 AM

Frank Zappa - Absolutely Free
Spacemen 3 - Playing With Fire
When is their new album coming out by the way? Fingers crossed is a better album, I think anyway.
New album comes out in late July or early August according to their website and will be called Places Like This. New single 'Heart it Races' is on their myspace to listen.

I like Fingers Crossed aswell, I just like the fuller sound on In Case We Die better.

I've been digging Pavement a whole lot lately, and Voxtrot. Pitchforks review be damned, their album is fantastic.
