what about enter sandman? kirk wrote that one moprning in his room at like4:30 when he was just messing around since he couldn't fall asleep. and his solos are insane
Yeah, the first one he wrote and it went downhill from there eh? plus allegations of that riff being ripped off, which I wouldn't put past him.
Another random Metallica question related question for y'all;

Does anyone know of a song called "Hunger"?

I downloaded it ages ago, before I really knew anything about Metallica, and the vocals certainly sound like Hetfield, anyone know anything about it?
Hmm..I think I got it on my old computer. When did you download it. I downloaded it when I locked for new demos for St. Anger so I thought it was for that. I did a search on google and someone in another forum said Metallica and Megadeth made that song together. Hard to believe, actually...

psilocybinmusic 06-03-2004 12:28 AM

bleh

hey guess what, metallica is f*cking gay.

:naughty:

Seen as how you're so knowledgable, tell us a good band, to put our minds at ease.

what does their sexuality have to do with it?

Atheist 06-03-2004 03:20 AM

i think he is going to say the walkamans or someone really gay like that

lilpete86 06-03-2004 03:40 AM

Yeah i'm only going on the sunday because all i want to see is metallica and slayer all the other bands are awful.

clown_phobia 06-03-2004 03:42 AM

I was wondering - is the rest of the black album as good as Enter Sandman?

Atheist 06-03-2004 03:47 AM

well im going to see inme on wedenesday and where are ya seeing metallica

DisposableHeroes 06-03-2004 03:49 AM

to perverted pixie colonist-the black album has a couple of tracks worth skipping, sandman is one of the best songs on there

to lilpete86-i'm going both days, though sunday is certainly the best day

It is by Eternal Decision (sp?) I think they have a website using that name or something. They are a christian band. You should see the morons who come on the Metallica boards and argue with people that this is an unreleased song by Metallica and Megadeth together.

lilpete86 06-03-2004 03:57 AM
well im going to see inme on wedenesday and where are ya seeing metallica
I'm seeing them at download at castle donnington

Atheist 06-03-2004 03:58 AM

you lucky git i wanted so much to go to that but couldnt get the money in time

lilpete86 06-03-2004 04:03 AM

As i said the only decent bands playing are metallica and slayer. But is worth the £50 just too see them :D

DisposableHeroes 06-03-2004 04:06 AM

slayer are criminally low on the bill

lilpete86 06-03-2004 04:19 AM

I find it odd that slayer are on an otherwise nu metal bill

Facsimile 06-03-2004 04:22 AM
to perverted pixie colonist-the black album has a couple of tracks worth skipping, sandman is one of the best songs on there
What are you talking about? Enter Sandman is a horrible song! The rest of the songs own it, and they aren't even that great.

DisposableHeroes 06-03-2004 04:24 AM

well i wouldnt really regard slipknot as nu-metal, soulfly border on it. I'll be checking out the black dahlia murder too

crushmeister 06-03-2004 04:28 AM

saw metallica last night, brilliant. they played ride the lightning, fade to black, jump in the fire, and seek and destroy. among others. amazing,

i caught a plectrum at the end aswell

Squirrel 06-03-2004 05:22 AM

I really wanted to go to Donington but meh 've got exams :(

Any ideas when they'll play England again ?

I think its annnoying that they do date after date after date in America and Australia but only do 2 festival dates in 6 months in the UK. They could do at least 10 sold out dates here easily. I know the others are MUCH larger but still, its unfair :upset:

Whoever is going to Download, give us full review when you come back :thumb:

( also record some of it if you can )

Atheist 06-03-2004 05:35 AM

i got an exam on the date when i go see inme but doesnt both me

DisposableHeroes 06-03-2004 05:53 AM

I'll see if my dad can recod some off the digital camera, the quality wont be that good but screw it

lilpete86 06-03-2004 06:15 AM

The first hurdle trying to find something to record with

:upset:

I've failed.

Photophobic 06-03-2004 06:26 AM

Erm....you could phone someone and leave the entire oncert as an answerphone message

lilpete86 06-03-2004 06:32 AM

After paying £50 for the ticket i can't afford any phone credit :upset:

Photophobic 06-03-2004 06:36 AM

then....remember it all really REALLY well and sing it back to all your friends when you get home.

Jacharias P 06-03-2004 06:37 AM

I saw em last year at reading and they were phenominal, i really wanted to to download and see them but i got exams, which sucks monkey nut-sack

Atheist 06-03-2004 07:51 AM

wasnt they at download last year as well

lilpete86 06-03-2004 08:28 AM

I think they turned up as a surprise. I don't think it was expected

Kreator 06-03-2004 08:33 AM

so have they just entered the stage and played a few songs? :amaze:

bump

lilpete86 06-03-2004 08:47 AM

I think thats what happened. I may be wrong i've been wrong before but i'm pretty sure thats what happened

Squirrel 06-03-2004 08:54 AM

^ yeah the previosu band left and they wheeled the amps on, everyone looked shocked that the amps had the metallica M scrawled on them, eventually the tent was about to fall over, that many ppl had turned up to see what was going on. They only played for about an hour though.

So anyone going to download PLEASE try and get ANY of it recorded - it'd be greatly appreciated - i can upload it onto my site ( i think ) so theres no trouble with hosting.

lilpete86 06-03-2004 09:01 AM

I've never recorded anything at gigs though. I don't really know what i can use

Squirrel 06-03-2004 09:07 AM

Got a video camera ? MP3 / Minidisc player ?

Kreator 06-03-2004 09:09 AM

maybe the guy of metmp3.com goes to download and records it.

lilpete86 06-03-2004 09:10 AM

My dad won't let me use his video camera due to it being worth about £1000. i have an ipod but that doesn't have a recording facility. And i have no way of hooking my mini disc recorder up to my pc :upset:
