Yeah. I'm at work right now, and it's not exactly where I'd like to be at the moment. I told her that if our blood types match I'd be more that willing to donate marrow though.

Pfft, as if. John Howard loves Bush, he'd do anything for him.

Wintermute 08-16-2004 05:05 AM

Who is the second person in the Bush pictures?

popinfresh 08-16-2004 05:12 AM

Who is the second person in the Bush pictures?

John Howard.

Wintermute 08-16-2004 05:17 AM

I have no idea who John Howard is, and don't see why it's an eye-rolling worthy thing not to know, bearing in mind that I'm not American.
I have no idea who John Howard is, and don't see why it's an eye-rolling worthy thing not to know, bearing in mind that I'm not American.
Jeez, even I've heard of Tony Blaire.

Got it yet? :p

Wintermute 08-16-2004 05:27 AM

Tony Blair is the Prime Minister. The American equivalent would be Bush, not Howard.

popinfresh 08-16-2004 05:29 AM
Tony Blair is the Prime Minister. The American equivalent would be Bush, not Howard.
Heres another one.

I'm not American.

Wintermute 08-16-2004 05:33 AM

Not the point - Blair is the British equivalent of Bush, not of Howard. Having heard of Blair means nothing.

So what if you're not American? Doesn't mean you don't know more about America than me.

popinfresh 08-16-2004 05:36 AM

Heheh, your missing the point im trying to make.

John Howard is Australia's PM :)

Wintermute 08-16-2004 05:39 AM

Fair enough. It's a funny thing, but Australia just doesn't feature in British news. Whatever the link twixt him and Bush, I didn't know of it. And I can guarantee that if I didn't know about it, neither did the majority of the British populace.

Ahh, I see.

Yeah, theres lots of anti war people over here that hate howard as he'll do anything to be in america's good books.

Wintermute 08-16-2004 05:46 AM

Blair gets the same treatment, you should have seen how many newspaper cartoons drew him as Bush's lapdog.

I c. We have that too.

Wurd.

Wintermute 08-16-2004 06:03 AM

There was actually a big rant about the way that Australia simply does not occur in the UK media a while ago in Politics, News and World Issues subforum. I don't remember when I last heard Australia mentioned. And I work in a Newsagent.

... No, really can't think of anything... it was probably Irwin dangling babies in front of big reptiles. And yes, I know Australians hate him, don't worry.

angry armadillo 08-16-2004 06:47 AM

I didnt know John Howard was the Australian PM either.

Wintermute has got it by saying the people of the UK just dont hear about Aus.

bassist-bmxer 08-16-2004 07:01 AM

yeah i dont think i have heard any news about australia before

JoeDaddio 08-16-2004 07:13 AM

When I was in grade school we had this huge "map of the world" that got painted on the concrete on our lunch area and it didn't have Austrailia. :p After they found out they screwed up they painted it in during the next summer.

Dude that's horrible. I just found out last monday that my grandfather has lymphoma. He had already had one chemo treatment but it didn't work out. Now instead of going onto more toxic chemo drugs he's just going to try and live with it. I feel for ya, man...
