Got it. And yeah, no official RATM thread. It's doing fine on it's own anyway.

Got them.

Iron Man 01-13-2005 07:47 PM

I don't know if this is something I should be notifying you guys of, but some Floyd fanboy came into the Death Heads forum for the sole purpose of flaming Death Metal and all of it's fans, to start arguments. He doesn't even give justification, he just calls it "garbage"

this young hooligan had the balls to come into the Classic Rock thread and spam it up. not to mention he was trying to link us to some sort of crap site or something.

edit- it appears he's banned now..good job. (unless he's fooling us)
The thread's actually 3 1/2 years old now, but has been bumped enough not to be archived. It makes me laugh how people talk about how great the early days of the forum were though, when you see how moronic some of the "discussion" in that thread was.

http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=289999

Close this as well please. :)
I think people generally think it was better because there were actually threads that had never been done before, and there was a much less hostile environment. The forums were not a competition like they are now.

It wasn't the users vs. the mods either. The two groups actually posted in harmony for the most part..

^Dream~Theater^ 01-14-2005 07:56 PM

Thanks for closing the guitarist thread. I did all i could but they wouldn't listen:(

a what band thread

Kingofdudes 01-14-2005 08:44 PM

I got a suggestion, how about we get rid of ***OFFICIAL*** threads? Whenever some retard comes to register they see it and say to themselves 'lol my band d3s3rv3s 1 2!" Too many people misunderstand the point of them, and a lot of them we dont need(Pink Floyd, Iron Maiden, etc.)

Now in some cases like the Metallica thread, we can change the title to "Only post about Metallica in this thread"

Well, some are, but some of the users who are against the mods are actually quite intelligent.

It's mainly because the users think that some of the mods are a bit too arrogant and/or too strict for the forum's good. I do see what they're saying, but we have to enforce the rules. If we let the forums go without rules, the whole site would be like the days of Rock & Metal without an active mod.

I guess you're right, I was just thinking n00bs. The R&M mods seem to be popular with most of the regulars though.

3074326 01-14-2005 09:52 PM

Yeah, we're fairly down to earth.

Bartender and I have been here for a good while, so most of the users have gotten to know us over the years. Haha

I haven't talked to Jelle or Ken for a while. :(

Luckily those are problems with the Pit retards that cry about their spam threads being closed, and not us.

3074326 01-14-2005 10:05 PM

Yeah, I'm happy with the regulars in the forums that I mod, and I believe they're happy with the mods in those forums. :)
