Nothing really, it's just more metal-y.

Giant or Giants? Because I'm thinking of Giant who is a Post Metal band, but Giants might be different.

Lord of Sword 01-21-2008 07:15 PM

You are There is my favourite Mono album, although Walking Cloud... has my favourite song of their's - Halycon (Beatiful Days). One More Step and You Die is one of those albums where I never listened to much when I first got it, so I don't even know half the tracks and still don't listen to it much.

Giants. And, honestly, there's nothing metal-y about Red Sparowes.

LifeInABox 01-21-2008 07:19 PM

Eh, maybe a little bit. It could go either way to me.

Txus 01-21-2008 07:23 PM

Listen to some Té or Toe, Mappy. You might like them.

i am the robots 01-21-2008 08:29 PM

Té? That sounds kinda... Latin...

But yeah, I can't find them on slsk, so I wishlisted them for now, but like, a rapidshit or something would be jawesome. :)

cometuesday 01-21-2008 08:31 PM

Post metal leans a lot more toward post rock than it does metal.

y n ?

Anyway, I'd put Red Sparowes in post metal before post rock though.

Waldo 01-21-2008 08:33 PM

post rock gimevs me a huge boner omfgg

Txus 01-21-2008 08:35 PM

HAHAHAHA, red sparowes post metal? ok, you guys are ****ing retarded.

Mappy: ill upload something tomorrow i guess

big80smullet 01-21-2008 08:54 PM

i would put bands like isis and nuerosis as post metal :/

LifeInABox 01-21-2008 08:55 PM

I would too, but I think Red Sparrowes could go either way.

i am the robots 01-21-2008 08:55 PM

There's really nothing metal about red sparowes at all though
HAHAHAHA, red sparowes post metal? ok, you guys are ****ing retarded.
Well it is Hbp and cometuesday.

I always thought of like, Pelican, Isis, and Cult Of Luna when I thought of post mettle.

Txus 01-21-2008 08:58 PM

Post Metal:
Rosetta
Callisto
Mouth of the Architect
Old Man Gloom

I kinda hate the term, but it helps.

LifeInABox 01-21-2008 09:01 PM

Old Man Gloom? Uhhh....

Txus 01-21-2008 09:07 PM

Yes, what? they share some good Post Metal songs along with a bunch of experimental ****.

srsly, **** genres.

i am the robots 01-21-2008 09:09 PM
Old Man Gloom? Uhhh....
dude, even i thought you were talking out of your *** when you labeled red sparowes as post metal, and im not even too familiar with these genres yet

Apocalypticon 01-21-2008 09:12 PM
Srsly, Moonlight is the most emotional Post Rock song I've ever heard.
oh come one Mike there is way more emotional. such as:

1. lift yr. skinny fist like antennas to heavens(movement not album)
2. broken windows/locks of love part III
3. she dreamt she was a bulldozer, she dreamt she was alone in a broken field

EDIT: Red Sparowes are post rock, not post metal

No, you're just retarded. I said it like 3 times. I think it can go either way with Red Sparowes. They have components that would put them in post metal, and vice versa with post rock. Besides, you just said it yourself, you aren't too familiar with the genres, so why are you so sure that you're right?

Apocalypticon 01-21-2008 09:17 PM

Red Sparowes

come on guys

RiceMonster 01-21-2008 09:22 PM

Those may be awesome, but Moonlight is still a great song.

big80smullet 01-21-2008 09:23 PM

Russian circles could be post metal tbh

Apocalypticon 01-21-2008 09:24 PM
Those may be awesome, but Moonlight is still a great song.
I'm not debating whether Moonlight is awesome or not because it clearly is, but when it comes to emotional post rock nothing tops Godspeed.

i am the robots 01-21-2008 09:27 PM
No, you're just retarded.
and so the pot calls the kettle black
I'm not debating whether Moonlight is awesome or not because it clearly is, but when it comes to emotional post rock nothing tops Godspeed.
Yeah I'll agree to that. Godspeed pretty much takes the cake for post rock if you ask me.

Apocalypticon 01-21-2008 09:34 PM

Godspeed just got it right. That's the only way of putting it.

LifeInABox 01-21-2008 09:35 PM

F#A# is one of the best albums ever.

Angmar 01-21-2008 09:36 PM

I like Slow Ride, and F# A# was alright. Still haven't heard Lift.

RiceMonster 01-21-2008 09:37 PM

Get it, it's their best album IMO. World Police and Friendly Fire must be heard.

God....kill yourself F#A# is of God status

Apocalypticon 01-21-2008 09:44 PM

Steve you mean Slow Riot. Also get Lift Yr. Skinny Fists as soon as possible. Most of the most amazing moments it Godspeed are on that album:

Lift Yr. Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven
Gathering Storm
Chart #3
World Police and Friendly Fire
Monheim
Broken Windows/Locks of Love pt. III
She Dreamt She Was a Bulldozer, She Dreamt She Was Alone In An Empty Field

also get Yanqui U.X.O its really really good

Mother****er = Redeemer is amazing

EDIT: @Hbp: yeah f#a# rules

The Cowboy, The Sad Mafioso and Drugs in Tokyo are all amazing
