its a legitimate sound

Dimmu Burger 08-20-2008 04:56 PM

Oh I know, just didn't expect it to be used talking about Protest The Hero.

Pete 08-20-2008 04:59 PM

they twang

i promise, they do

Dimmu Burger 08-20-2008 05:36 PM

I believe you. Johnny Cash had twang as well.

Benzilla 08-22-2008 11:23 AM

Different kind of twang. Johnny Cash's twang was one that could bring a tear to the most hardened of prison inmates, Protest's twang will get you so pumped that it's the reason you're there in the first place.

SWard325 08-22-2008 12:52 PM

Kezia rules so hard

True dat. There are all kindsa inmates here listening to Johnny Cash and crying.

Pete 08-23-2008 03:49 AM

and listening to pth and pumping

each other

in the butt

Benzilla 08-23-2008 05:59 AM

Hey, they would probably be proud if a gay guy came up to them after a show and told them that he's had sex to their songs.

Dimmu Burger 08-23-2008 08:02 AM

I got my brother in law/guitarist into PtH! He didn't like Kezia as much cause of the vocals, but he loves Fortress. This is cool, maybe he'll write some stuff influenced by this.

oh gawd 09-01-2008 11:20 PM

Kezia is so much better than Fortress. I loved Fortress, too, it was all i ever listened to for like 3 months straight. But now in perspective it seems like a forced entry into cheesy wank-metal, imo tbqh bbq.

RiceMonster 09-02-2008 12:03 AM

Fortress feels a lot better than Kezia to me. I haven't listened to it as much, though. Maybe it's the better production on Fortress that makes me like it so much more.

rebb 09-02-2008 06:47 AM

IMO both albums are equally awesome. I really can't pick a favourite.

Dimmu Burger 09-02-2008 10:00 PM

I like Fortress more, its more variety and the songs are catchier.

Just saw this for the first time in ages. I was never huge on Closet Monster but this song (and a few others) were such a ****ing blast live. Posting it here since Arif's in the video + London is PTH's manager.

I don't think I could choose a favourite, I find it pretty hard to compare them.

I think I listen to Kezia more often.

Jev 09-03-2008 05:07 AM

I've been really getting into these lately, my favourite release is definitely Kezia.

OHmigah this is THE worst song I think I've ever heard:lol:

Tyler 09-03-2008 10:37 AM

I wasn't a fan by any means, it's just nostalgic.

Pete 09-03-2008 12:57 PM

what the hell, closet monster are awesome

edit: although thats far from their best song. "killed the radio star" is an awesome, awesome album

Tyler 09-03-2008 01:02 PM

They were awesome live but I never got hugely into their music. They were pretty fake, ideologically, so I never took it for more than fun music to scream along to live.

Pete 09-03-2008 01:04 PM

ah, i only know them through albums so i wouldnt know that. kinda sucks if they are, pretty much why i can't stand Refused or any other dennis lyxzen-related project

bombs over providence are the bomb (lol) too, UO is a good label in general

Tyler 09-03-2008 01:05 PM

I remember I saw them at Warped Tour and they were so hugely grateful. I saw them the next day at a small dingy club and they just went on about how they hated how corporate warped tour was. It was just stuff like that. Not only were Jesse and London once in Avril Lavigne's band, but London works for Universal now.

Pete 09-03-2008 01:17 PM

well they still put out one helluva bouncy album :(

ironyyyy

Pastorius 09-03-2008 04:55 PM

One of them is actually called London?

Tyler 09-03-2008 05:07 PM

Nah, his name is Mark. Funny story, too. We were at a gig in Oshawa and this guy I was with, actually named London, was like, "HEY MY NAME IS LONDON TOO!" and "London" just went "....my name is mark".

Pastorius 09-03-2008 05:22 PM

lol, you know someone called london?

What the hell is up with parents?!

silenteye 09-03-2008 07:08 PM

One of my favorite bands.

Does get old after listening to them for a long time though.
