hope they do something like this, but with everyone cause the drummer and bass player totally deserve one too.
tom should also give us a little solo. their trombonist is such a cool guy. |
Who is the big black guy? A new member or?
|
their trumpet player
|
he was a different big black guy before, i remember asking him why they never use wireless mics for their horns. they go through members like no other band.
|
yeah i always wondered the reason for that. do you think a steady line up would help the quality maybe?
|
their trumpet player
:) Yeah I kinda figured that out, but the last time I checked the trumpet player looked completely different. Why do they keep changing members? |
:) Yeah I kinda figured that out, but the last time I checked the trumpet player looked completely different.
Why do they keep changing members?
Stuart Karmatz left and was replaced by Paul Lowndes Jim Conti took the place of Pete Sibilia. Paul Lowndes left so Chris Thatcher joined the band as his replacement, and has been with Streetlight ever since. On the album, Jamie Egan played both trumpet and trombone, but as he would not be able to do this live Mike Soprano joined on trombone. Josh Ansley announced his departure to pursue an acting career. Chris Paszik performed in his place. Egan left to spend more time with his family and concentrate on his music teaching job at North Brunswick High School in North Brunswick, New Jersey. Delano Bonner came in to play trumpet. Dan Ross had planned to leave after the The Ska Is Dead 2 to pursue a business career, and was forced to leave early just before the end of the tour due to a family crisis.[11] He has been replaced by Mike Brown. Sometime between December 3, 2006 and July 3rd, 2007, Delano Bonner left the band. Sometime before the recording of Streetlight's new untitled album, Matt Stewart took over Delano's spot at trumpet. (In order of departure) 1. Stuart Karmatz - Drums (no reason given) 2. Pete Sibilia - Tenor Saxophone (no reason given) 3. Paul Lowndes - Drums (left? no reason given) 4. Josh Ansley - Bass Guitar, Backing Vocals (acting career) 5. Jamie Egan - Trumpet/Trombone (family and teaching job) 6. Dan Ross - Alto and Baritone Saxophone (business career/family crisis) 7. Chris Paszik - Bass Guitar, Backing Vocals (not even mentioned) 8. Delano Bonner - Trumpet (no reason given) Matt Stewart on trumpet (Joined July 2007) Mike Brown on alto and baritone saxophone (May 2005) Jim Conti on alto and tenor saxophone (was on EGN) Tomas Kalnoky on guitar and vocals (was on EGN) Pete McCullaugh on the bass guitar (????) Mike Soprano on trombone (was on original touring lineup) Chris Thatcher on drums (was on original touring lineup) So I mean the only real changes in the past few years have been Matt Stewart, Pete McCullaugh and (2 years previous) Mike Brown. Everyone else has been around since EGN/their first tour. Id probably put it on something to do with the horn players not being able to live off of what they were getting paid because Tomas writes all the song (little if any portion of album sales) Streetlight isn't huge. They support their own tours and recording and whatnot. Plus I'd have to say I might be a little ticked if I didn't make the kind of money I was expecting... It's always about money. |
http://streetlightmanifesto.com/
surprise
old news. you may have noticed everyone discussing the album title and what not =P |
http://streetlightmanifesto.com/
surprise
wtf you got me excited thinking there was something new announced but it was just day old album title news : / |
so the only truely original members are thomas and jim (maybe)?
because supposedly the original lineup was just a mash up of C22 and OCG but i'm not sure of the truth\accuracy in that. |

From One Cool Guy there was Stuart Karmatz, Pete Sibilia, Dan Ross, and Chris Paszik. |

Am I the only one who would like to see a slow Streetlight song?
Yes... His voice is only really suitable to fast lyrics, which is why even his slow songs have fast lyrics. It would be stupid of him to play to his weaknesses. If you want slow songs listen to the slackers. |

but it would be cool to just have a chillen slow song even if it were with fast vocals. As the footsteps die out starts slowish and thats not bad. in fact, most of that album is slowER than EGN anyway, though still not slow by most standards. but i think it would be possible and decent.

a moment of silence is pretty slow. |

It sounds like a weak falsetto, even though I'm pretty sure it isn't. The only good singing is at the end when he puts some energy into it. If you didn't know the song, would you really think it was a good one? |

Thanks Doug, that long post before was awesome!
I never really totally got hold of the member changing. And I agree with Kith that tomas should stick with the fast lyrics. September 17th? It seems way too soon when they haven't even announced it yet themselves. |
