what are some of the easiest pink floyd songs to learn on guitar?
Well all of them really. The really easy ones are In The Flesh, Welcome to the Machine, Pig on the Wing, and Astronmy Dommni are some good starters. |
So, for you guys, the guy sitting on the chair is the guy from the cover of Ummagumma. But cos I feel happy, I'll rep you all regardless.

I listened to Animals from my dads vinyl collection. Meh liked it a lot

I love the sound of Floyd on Vinyl. It seems really warm, and authentic, to me. |

Yeh it does. He's got a lot of other good sh*t too. My main listenings went towards Pink Floyd and Grand Funk Railroad during that time though |
Is the bootleg album I got wrong? On the live ummagumma cd, theres like 4 songs, and not one from the studio version. I think they were all from saucerful of secrets. I'd look it up myself, but the school here blocks demm sites...Thnx

If you want to get passed blocked sites, go to https://proxify.net and enter whatever site you want to go to through that. It works for my school.

Of course thats a good one though not many people would have thought of that nice tatoo :thumb: |
Whenever I watch the DVD, I watch the unedited version
You officially have the best avatar on MX. |
I love floyd so much, their my favorite band. i kno alot of people like the wall and dsotm but my favorite album is animals. dogs is really an awsome song. im just amazed with these guys. i must know 150 floyd songs, and i like them all. all i can say is these guy are definatly right up there in one of the greatest bands of all time. led zep lover, an easy floyd song is pigs on the wing, its only like 5 chords and is not fast at all.
|
You know I love Dogs, but I like Pigs (three different kinds) better. That was my favorite song until I heard Echoes.

Well most floyd stuff is pretty diverse, but a best song to learn on guitar which is easy but sounds really good is money from DSOTM. Pink Floyd are my favourite band and I am a huge fan. I dont think there is a band even close to Floyd in my top ten. Even though I am a big fan of Gilmours guitar work my favourite song by Floyd has to be Us and them. It is really calm and relaxing. My top 10 list of Floyd songs would probably be us and them, comfortably numb, shine on you crazy diamond part 1-5, careful with that axe eugune, dogs, wish you were here, echoes, young lust, great gig in the sky and time. |

Yesterday, in the pit, somebody (i think tiger) had a thread titles "_____is____" on googlism.com. You type in your username and a ton of info comes up it find able to fit the sentence. I didnt reply, but i did it for echoes, and the last one on the page was "echoes IS a song released but never played on the radio again for 10 years". I didnt know it was released (due to timing), but id do anything to get our station to play it, since nobys i know, young or old, says they have ever heard that song, even floyd fans and my parents. |
Am I the only one who thinks that Darkside of the Moon was extremely overrated? Granted, it was good, but people only seem to listen to "Money". My favorite song on it is Brain Damage, but honestly, it just doesn't seem right to have to label a favorite song on a Pink Floyd album. I could never list a favorite song from "The Wall" - whenever I play it, I play it in its entirety. Sometimes I listen to it on the bus on my way to school, and have to secretly play disc 2 all through my homeroom and 1st period class. Well worth it, anyway. Great music.
|
Overrated? Yeah, I might give you that. Extremely overrated? I don't think so. I love DSOTM. I think its wonderful. Granted, WYWH > DSOTM (and all other albums ever) but DSOTM is still amazing.

Good album, but I liked The Wall better as well. "If you dont eat your meat, you cant have any pudding!"       |
Also, why doesn't anyone like Momentary Lapse of Reason? I really liked it; not as timeless as other Pink Floyd, but I think Gilmour fared pretty well on it without the assistance of Waters.
|
I really like it. You must have seen me raving about it on a previous page.
|
I just saw the Korn cover of Another Brick In The Wall, it was all right.

Its not that we don't like it, its that compared to the other Pink Floyd albums its only ok. The Divison Bell is a better post Waters album anyway. |
The Division Bell > MLOR
|
The Division Bell > MLOR
The Division Bell>Roger's solo career. Well mabye not the lyrics but Roger's instrumentals were lacking for the most part. |

I agree its good but I dont consider Gilmour without Waters Pink Floyd...dont get me wrong Gilmour is great, I just dont think they are Pink Floyd without Waters... |

Well that is too bad for you then. Using that logic, PF isnt PF without Syd. |

PF have gone through many changes. Just because The Division Bell isnt like The Wall it doesnt mean it isnt PF. Rick and Nick both contributed a lot more compared to earlier, so if anything that album has more of a right to be a PF than The Wall.
