You do realize that because she can't preform live doesn't take away the fact that the can sing, if you listen to her cd then you would be able to tell. It's all opinion whether you think a band is better or not, and also, Carcass Morbid Angel and Napalm Death are very popular, you would have a hard time finding a metalhead on these boards who hasn't heard of two out of three of those bands.

I know very much about Death Metal, I listen to many Death Metal bands on a regular basis.

I'd say it'l be awile till the next album comes out but I prefer it when bands do that.It gives them more time to evolve musically instead of releasing the exact same album right after one another.

Besides isn't Corey doing something with Stone Sour again soon?

You need to have some good double bass speed to play most of joey's beats since that's what he uses most of the time. I'm not a drummer, but that's what it sounds like it's most important in slipknot's beats.

i think i tried to learn People = Shi[I]t[/I]. It wasnt that hard just really fast. I only learned one bit though cause im not really a Slipknot fan anymore.

I dl "Disasterpieces" DVD. It's pretty sweet except coreys voice is majorly lacking in most of it. He just doesn't have a great live voice.

The band and crowd show amazing energy though and joeys drum solo is pretty cool.

Whenever I've heard Corey preform live it always has sounded like [size=2]sh[/size]it to me, it must suck in the studio trying to record them.

From what ive heard of him live i think he does really good

Sometimes Corey tries to hard and these high pitched uncontrolled screams come out that sound terrible. The more raspy kind of voice though is spot on sometimes. I just think he's got some work to do with his voice ever since he lost what he had on Iowa.

Slipknot are the band I hate the most out of all bands. I have many good reasons.

Lack of Talent/Originality -

I don't think Slipknot are talented at all. I've heard people say "ooo, Mick really shreds". Go listen to some Jason Becker or something, and then try to tell me Mick can shred. I've looked at numerous Slipknot tabs and they all digust me. So many people also so Joey is really good at drums. I'm a drummer, and I hear nothing special from him. In fact I don't even think he's that great or original with his drumming. Also, there's the lyrics and song meanings. Most of Slipknot's songs are about depression and suicide, typical nu-metal style. It makes me sick

The Whole 9 Member Thing -

This actually makes me laugh. I find it really funny how Slipknot can have 9 members and play as poorly as they do. I can think of countless bands that sound better than slipknot and play with 5, 4 or even 3 members. I don't get why they need two percussionists, they don't add anything to the music. I saw Duality live on Leno and one of them hit a garbage can. Now that's talent. The whole sampler and DJ thing is stupid too. Jordan Rudess from Dream Theater does all of their samples and plays the keyboard like a god at the same time. Slipknot could have two members and be just about as good. I make better music by myself than Slipknot does with 9 people.


Bad Influence -

Slipknot is typical whiny nu-metal. They are making kids more "depressed" then they already were by making them think life is so hard. I see tons of Slipknot fans that are all dressed in black with chains and spikes and make up. Goth kids make me angry. Suck it up and get a life. Listen to some real metal.

Gimmick -

The MASKS. Wow, you don't want to be recognized in public, big deal. Pay the price for being famous. Maybe if they get rid of those silly costumes they can make some good music while they are at it.

ok first off, not talented? go listen to vermillion pt. 2, circle, or any stone sour and tell me Corey cant sing.im not really into that melodic stuff but its still proof that he can sing! joey is awesome at drums, i dont care what you say. but you're right about one thing, Mick makes me want to puke, anyone who says he's good needs to take a look at some slipknot tabs. there is absolutely no talent involved there.

If you're influenced by the lyrics of songs then you're an idiot. IT'S MUSIC. they're not a band you should take to heart. some things do make a point and give you something to consider, but its not something you should live your life by. its just something to bang your head to, and slipknot provides it.

The masks aren't something to hide behind. they do it to draw attention and to be heard. and they put their music first, BEFORE the masks and costumes.

im not crazy about slipknot and dont consider myself a big fan im just giving credit where it needs to be givin. they ARE a good band.

But I agree with you on most of those points.

Some of the guys points are true, but they don't bother me so much to make me want to not listen.

However, just because Jason Becker is a better guitarist doesn't make Mick Thompson a bad one.

I'd also say a percussion [i]section[/i] is original. Yeah, it's irrelevant sometimes, but I think that there's some songs that just would not have the same drive without it. The tribal idea for some of the songs was really pushed with the percussionists and made it work.

Calling the masks a gimmick is a little unfair. You do not know whether they put them on in the first place to gain more fans or not. But I bet I do that they were thinking it'd be more entertaining, and make things a little different then a bunch of normal looking metal heads headbanging like almost any other metal band.

Funny thing I read on some message board about 2 years ago. People were discussing slipknot and they thought slipknot had like 200+ members who toured at different times and that's why they wear masks.
