W00t a N00b likes me!
There's a DKM Blackout poster in the background of some Nickelodeon show.
Was it the one with Britney Spears's little sister? I think I saw it. |
And it's no more real than Lord of the Rings.
733t 4the15T w00t! Bible critics and atheists are more annoying than Bible fanatics and Christians. |
Personally, I just don't profess my religous beliefs to anyone else. The ones I have have been decided by me, and the ones others have will be decided by them.
When christians try non-stop to convert you, it's fucking annoying. When atheists and such try non-stop to get you to not beleive the others, it's just as annoying. |
Personally, I just don't profess my religous beliefs to anyone else. The ones I have have been decided by me, and the ones others have will be decided by them.
I'm always open to listening to people's ideas from either point of view. It would take a lot of convincing to convert me either way. :p I think Athiesm is a little weird. Saying god doesn't not exist when it's impossible to know anything for sure. Atleast christians have the supposed word of god to go on, what do you have? No offense to athiests, maybe I just haven't heard a great argument on why god can't exist. I'd definately like to hear one though. |
Check the politics forum. I'm sure there's some in there
|
I gave up on atheistm a long time ago because it was just plain idiotic. The people I know who were atheists were just a bunch of people who haven't outgrown their rebellion and throw out supposed anti-religious quotes from Voltaire and Nietzche. I'm happy being an agnostic, it is impossible to know if a god exists, and I'm nopt searching for it. I've been studying Discordianism a lot too, and that religion makes a lot more sense than others.
|
Never heard of it. Care to post a link or anything to explain it?

I hate when liberals and anarchists and atheists claim to be so open-minded, yet are such fascists about everything. |

haha, already there. I don't quite think I'm getting the "Law of Fives" thing Edit: Pentabarf? Sounds like a Vigor Mortis song No hot dogs?! |
I don't think I get any of it.
I take that back. I get it, it just seems irrelevant and really generalized...or maybe I'm just not reading the important parts. |
its seems a little enigmatic and eccentric just for the sake of being confusing
|
You can have hot dogs, just not on friday and never a hot dog bun. The law of fives is the fact that everything comes in fives, always.
|
the leader also seems like a raving lunatic
|
It makes perfect sense because it makes no sense. Mal-2 was a genius.
|
It makes perfect sense because it makes no sense. Mal-2 was a genius.
There is a fine line between genious and lunacy, although I'd be interested to see if the law of fives acctually works, and it it does, it it really means anything anyway. |

There is a lot of resources prooving it, and prooving the appearance of 23, which also corespondes to the law of fives because 2 + 3 = 5 |
i just got 1 pimple. i didnt get 5.
|
but does it really mean anything?
Anyway, I think religions a bit suspect. Jesus saves, religion enslaves and all that |
but does it really mean anything?
Anyway, I think religions a bit suspect. Jesus saves, religion enslaves and all that
It means that everything follows the law of fives, it doesn't go much deeper than that. Eris is a simple woman. |
The Prist(sp?) returned my letter of intent. now i just dont care

Haha, this alone makes me hold great suspicion and contempt for this "religion". And you said this makes more sense to you than other religions? |
A religion disguised as a joke disguised as a religion. Weird.

All religions have a Dogma, or in the case of Discordia, Catma. Also take into consideration this from Wikipedia The Pentabarf was first discovered written upside down, and reading its holy laws from the bottom up may help he who seeks to understand them. The fifth law is a warning against dictated faith; while words can inspire beliefs, it should not be their source; one should not adhere to dogma. While the fourth law establishes religious dogma; the third instructs to reject it, while providing examples of dogma from other religions. The second law shows the futility of dogma: the Official Discordian Document Numbering System is not explained in the Pentabarf. In accordance with the principles of chaos, words cannot define an official belief system that will be shared by all; each person will interpret writings differently. Some have guessed that the "Official Discordian Document Numbering System" from the second holy law has something to do with the fact that all page numbers in the book are exactly five digits. Were this true, it would be useful in protecting against extremely longwinded authors and increase the market for COBOL programmers. As for the first, and last law, it consists of circular definitions, which are present in nearly all belief systems: those definitions are one of the purest forms of dogma. The Pentabarf is the most fundamental of all Discordian catma. ("Catma" is a general term for Discordian teachings, sayings, quotations, explanations, jokes and illustrations, as distinguished from Discordian "dogma", which consists of certain specific passages from The Honest Book of Truth, cited in Principia.) As the third law of the Pentabarf demands a violation of the fourth, and the fifth law seems to subvert the very concept of written law, it is not clear in what sense the Pentabarf is to be taken. |
That's beyond "genius" or "lunacy". It's just stupid.
That's beyond "genius" or "lunacy". It's just stupid.
Whatever you want. Not my fault you can't accept Eris. |
It seems to me like it wasnt meant to be taken seriously. like star wars, then some people take it to far.....
|
It seems to me like it wasnt meant to be taken seriously. like star wars, then some people take it to far.....
You are close. It isn't meant to be taken seriously, but it is. It's confusion and chaos, just look at the name. |
It's just like a religion for those kids who do "random" things for the sake of being "random". Why devote your time to something that has absolutely no relevance?
|
It's just like a religion for those kids who do "random" things for the sake of being "random". Why devote your time to something that has absolutely no relevance?
Because no one devotes time to the religion, they just part of the religion. |
I remeber when i was like 11 i had my own religion.. it was the S'hit.
|

that seems pretty cool, but i dont anyone should take it seriously. |
that seems pretty cool, but i dont anyone should take it seriously.
No Discordian takes to the street yelling Hail Eris. Well a few might but after copious amounts of acid. It is never taken the the extreme serious point. And Andre, stop being so grumpy and bitter about the d'amn thing. |
Well, it's definatley interesting.
Although it's weird because at some points I think I completley get it and agree, but at other points I'm just confused and it seems stupid and has no purpose |
I dont like it when I can't pronounce half the words. but sounds cool.
|

Read up about Emperor Norton as well. He is a hero of Discordia, and has a Cabal named after him. |
I don't thinks its supposed to have a purpose
|
Quotes from the Principia Discordia:
Fliegende Kinderscheisse! (Flying Baby shit!) - The POEE Mysteree Oath Remember: King Kong died for your sins! |
Wow that Emperor Noton guy is so very awesome its amazing
