Trent Reznor went to a high school near me. He was very active in their idea-recycling program.

Also I made a thread in this forum that I think people would like to post in so give it a shot please :)

I won't soil the thread by posting this there.

JonM 06-13-2006 08:57 PM

Yes, I quite like this thread, too, and I wanted to say so but not in there, because I don't have any good ones yet.

cb240 06-14-2006 12:35 AM

I don't like anything either.

Robert Crumb 06-14-2006 12:36 AM

Was she bald and/or self-involved?

pppoe 06-14-2006 12:36 AM

My friend goes to school with the person that does all of Brian Bell's (from Weezer) shopping.

I shrugged.

Robert Crumb 06-14-2006 12:38 AM

I hope I get so big that someone has to do all my shopping. Intepret that however you'd like.

pppoe 06-14-2006 12:40 AM
Turns out the girl that sat next to me in physics this year is Billy Corgan's cousin. I didn't like her, and I don't like the Smashing Pumpkins. Cool thing to find out though.
lol, ask her when they're gonna tour the UK for me please.

ATM 06-14-2006 08:54 AM

Corgan may be an asshole sometimes but Gish is some gooood stuff.

The Hip Hop revolution has begun, I know most of the regulars on this forum would use it. So post and vote in here;

I saw him at Sasquatch! and he left after 45 mins of music when he was the headliner for that night and supposed to play for 2 hours. Case in point I kind of hate him now.

Btw Jaca, did you know that the Janes Addiction Bassist is recording wih the Pumpkins?

Interstate 06-14-2006 01:56 PM

I keep having stupid nosebleeds. I've had about 6 moderately bad ones and a bloodfest the other day where it was literally pouring out of my nose within a week or so. Scared the living crap out of me. I'm going to see the doctor tomorrow or friday.
I'm reading the James Frey books. Even if they're completely made up they still make really good fiction. Great writer.
Well if they weren't they probably wouldn't be fiction at all. =)
I wanna see Beck live :upset:
I hope I'm free for Pukkelpop then I can see Beck AND Radiohead AND DJ Shadow. /indie points ++

JonM 06-14-2006 02:25 PM

Today I tested myself to see if I could play a Bob Marley song. This is what I did:

Well he also seemed to have the attitude of just going out and playing for the sake of playing. I mean even Ben Harper acted like he was having fun. Trent Reznor was having fun or whatever he has and Wayne from the Lips was having fun but Beck just seemed like a douche. His encore of "Loser" was just a bunch of puppits and a backing track doing the music (he left the stage the lights dimmed came up and the stupid puppits he had on stage just "played" it) Ya I'm bitter.

The orginal bassist - Eric Avery? If so that is freakin' sweet. I hope Billy lets him write his own bass lines.

superpeer 06-14-2006 03:19 PM
They were marketed as nonfiction though. There was a controversy over how much of what he wrote was actually true.
Ah, fair enough.

Kyle 06-14-2006 04:19 PM
The orginal bassist - Eric Avery? If so that is freakin' sweet. I hope Billy lets him write his own bass lines.
Yeah, Eric Avery. I think it's pretty cool too, but if the bass lines are too colourful it won't suit the band. Oh well, will be cool to see what happens.
I hope I'm free for Pukkelpop then I can see Beck AND Radiohead AND DJ Shadow. /indie points ++
That would be awesome, I'm still highly pissed off about missing out on Radiohead tickets because of Ebay people.

Little Man being Erased 06-14-2006 04:39 PM

Ebay people suck. With Splendour in the Grass this year, to buy tickets you had to supply name and date of birth of every person you were buying tickets for, which would then be printed on the ticket. Then you have to show ID at the gate and if name and DOB don't match you don't get in. All to stop scalping. It worked too, it took a lot longer for tickets to sell out this year than last year (2 days as opposed to 5 hours).

Kyle 06-14-2006 04:48 PM

This might be me being stupid, but is there a reason why all concerts don't have a similar system in place? Or is it just too much hastle?

pppoe 06-14-2006 04:53 PM

It's too much to deal with. I would assume they want everyone in as quickly as possible. After a thorough search, of course. I hope.

That's my biggest fear at shows. Someone bringing in a knife and fucking shit up. Like my stomach or something.

Little Man being Erased 06-14-2006 04:54 PM

Didn't seem to be too much hassle. And I don't see why it wasn't thought of earlier. I imagine that, eventually, something similar will be used for more ticket sales.

Little Man being Erased 06-14-2006 04:56 PM
It's too much to deal with. I would assume they want everyone in as quickly as possible. After a thorough search, of course. I hope.
It shouldn't really take any longer to get through the gate, since they already check IDs anyway.
