Lucky you can still eat steak, bro.

And LOL @ mappy.

here's my take on the veg thing. i LOVED eating vegetarian... i felt super healthy all the time and it wasn't too hard to substitute my proteins etc.

but i have been working a new weight training routine where i need to get a lot more protein then i normally get. it would be either spending tons of money on whey protein (not vegetarian), eating tuna (expensive, poisonous, also not vegetarian), eating tons and tons of vegetarian substitutes (not gonna do that, unhealthy), or just eating the provided meat at my dining hall (not paying anything extra from my vege diet, getting the extra protein, staying healthy).

i support everything about a vegetarian diet and i think that if your diet needs allow a vegetarian diet you should definitely go for it... it's awesome. also i think eating eggs, while it shouldn't prohibit you from being vege, is like eating meat. still got animal cells in there... at least i was under the impression it's the same **** in there. i'd say i'd prefer to not be eating meat right now but i really gotta push myself to be healthy.

also i don't eat red meat. f'uck that s'hit. so gross

Matt? 03-06-2009 01:49 PM

at least, i don't...

yet. :O

Stanley believes that the natural human diet is a totally carnivorous one, thus making it a no-carbohydrate diet, and that all vegetables are toxic. He claims to have eaten almost nothing but meat, eggs, butter and cheese since 1959 and that he believes his body has not aged as much as the bodies of those who eat a more "normal" diet. He is convinced that insulin, released by the pancreas when carbohydrates are ingested, is the cause of much damage to human tissue and that diabetes mellitus is caused by the ingestion of carbohydrates.

Stanley received radiation therapy in 2004 for throat cancer, which he first attributed to passive exposure to cigarette smoke at concerts, but which he later discovered was almost certainly caused by the infection of his tonsil with HPV. He credits his low carb diet with starving the tumor of glucose, slowing its growth and preventing its spread enough that it could be successfully treated despite its advanced state at diagnosis.

Matt? 03-06-2009 03:37 PM

um, well i think most dietitians would disagree with "stanley".

hismajestythepope 03-06-2009 04:07 PM

Stanley must be right then, I mean why else would humans have been omnivores since the dawn of man unless we were meant to be carnivores.

I mean, that finally explains why we have molars! we're supposed to be carnivores!

JohnXDoesn't 03-06-2009 05:22 PM

i am not well studied (obviously) but i do believe we are natural carnivores. i mean it seems perfectly instinctual for me to eat meat. it feels that way, at least. then again i was brought up eating it. but i don't remember ever feeling like i was "conditioned" to eat it. i always liked it

some i believe aren't like this. but i think it goes against human nature. nothing wrong with that. i believe the same thing about homosexuality. not that its a bad thing, i simply believe some are genetically of a different nature in these regards. for w/e reason. more power to them

i guess you could say the same way i believe people don't choose to be truly homosexual you can't choose to be a non meat eater. in a natural way. you can choose to not eat meat. you can choose to sleep with only a same sex person. however its kind of silly if you're doing it for reasons other then your nature

so eat meat and be happy if you even feel a little like you should. its good :)

Iluvatar 03-06-2009 05:47 PM

we are natural omnivores hence the way our jaws developed

808 03-06-2009 06:00 PM

I am a natural shawarmavore.

christsimpson 03-06-2009 06:06 PM

saying that something "goes against human nature" doesn't really work. I mean if I couldn't hunt down a cow and kick it to death and eat it raw (which I'm pretty sure I could if I really wanted to do so), at least I can put it do death and f'ucking barbecue it. why? because we have made tools that allow us to do so. "omg humans don't have sharp teeth they can't hunt". why would we need sharp teeth when we have the intelligence to invent and craft tools to do s'hit for us?

Iluvatar 03-06-2009 06:09 PM

you are sort of arguing with yourself there

i mean that as seriously as possible

Angmar 03-06-2009 07:57 PM

Yes I think that everyone knows what an omnivore is.

hismajestythepope 03-06-2009 08:02 PM

idk we have kiddies saying that they think humans are naturally supposed to be carnivores because they enjoy eating meat...

Angmar 03-06-2009 08:15 PM

Well Carnivore implies meateater strictly, and obviously that is not good for health, but I'd say we are meant to have meat in our diet.

RetiredAt21 03-06-2009 08:17 PM

MEEEEEEAAAAAT.

lol I love Ren And Stimpy.

hismajestythepope 03-06-2009 08:17 PM

Wow Steve, can you tell me anything else you've learned in Environmental Science?

JohnXDoesn't 03-06-2009 08:18 PM

ok well since this isn't biology class or w/e let me just change "natural carnivores" to omnivore. as to not split hairs or offend anyone's delicate sensibilities

now i get to have salad with my steak :)

Angmar 03-06-2009 08:21 PM
