That interview is taking forever to load.
|
So.. are they gonna come back to the US after that Euro tour?
|
I would assume so.
|
If anyone has a ticket to Dallas they are interested in selling, let me know.
I realize it's a long shot, since the tickets sold out withing 3-4 minutes. I managed to get 2 tickets to Kansas City, but OF COURSE, I can't go. I can't stretch enough, if you are a scalper, or if you bought tickets to sell on eBay : Kill yourself. Kill yourself you no good rotten piece of toliet scum. Kill yourself. |
I planned to go to NYC but now that isn't happening beings that the tickets are sold out, so I entered to win a contest at a local radio station. Two tickets for TOOL in Toranto, including airfare and hotels. Wish me luck plz.
|
Good luck!
i...typed it...from the magazine...dope
there was nowhere to copy paste it from unless you wanted me to like, insert a usb port into my brain, hook it up to the computer, and scan it with my eyes, then ok, then it was a waste of time so can anyone give me the link to the album?
They have these things called "scanners." Been around for...oh...15 years or so? |

Thanks, it's a long shot, but to see TOOL I will take it. |
Are you going to sell the KC tickets?
No, I have friends here, that were trying just like me to get tickets, that didn't have any luck. I just happen to get extremely lucky. I definatly consider a trade of a Dallas ticket for KC one, but I want to allow my friends who weren't lucky enough to get tickets first pick. |
well of course man, just wondering.

Not a problem...I have a senior banquet I can't skip that day, but I was still trying to get tickets for friends. I'm trying to convince el parentos to let me skip the stupid banquet. It's a shame that people can afford $1,000 tickets off eBay, but couldn't wake up at 10am and try to get them for themselves. I had 4 different computers running, because I would generally love to see Tool, unlike those scalpers. |
**** Senior Banquet, go see TOOL lol
|
If they don't happen to get/want them, I'd be highly interested in purchasing them.
Otherwise I'll see them there! :thumb: |
**** Senior Banquet, go see TOOL lol
Those are nearly the exact words I ended up yelling at my dad. Wish me luck convincing him to let me go. Tool is much more important. |
Don't worry, they will come back to the states and play at least three shows in areas within driving distance from almost everyone here. Also, the tickets will be 1/2 the price, and there will be 4 times as many for each show.

I just watched that interview, it was damn good. I love the way they talked about Linkin Park, it was so f'ucking funny. "they are one of those slip bizkit bands". "They don't really belong on a billboard chart for music..." Maynard made a sweet reference to Circle Jerks too, I laughed.
As far as downloading and such goes, Maynard seemed to direct his comments only at those who download and do not go and buy the album. They didn't mention anything about downloading leaks and then buying the album, so I don't think that was a major concern for them. It's just a matter of supporting them after they put in all that money/effort to make that album. Good interview. |
Could anyone with 10,000 days possibly send it to me over AIM or e-mail? The copy I got skips about every two seconds or so.
|
To be honest, I don't think they'd care if people d/led the leak, then bought the album, and were actually fans of the band and bought merch and stuff.
And if they do care, why should they? They want people to appreciate their music, and people do, they also want to make money from it, and they do. Oh, and wanting 30 second "teasers", or as I like to call them "spoilers", then preaching about how much you respect the band and will never d/l their music reeks of hypocricy, not to mention, spoils the experience of listening to the album as a whole, in my opinion. People who d/led the single alone arn't who I'm talking about... (Unless you d/led it early, in which case you still break your own logic.) I heard that interview about a year ago now, I think. It was very interesting at the time. I can never tell how seriously to take Maynard though, watch the Bikini bandits trailer with him in to see what I mean. Edit: I'm feeling for everyone who can't see Tool live. Life just seems to be getting in the way for me. Maybe when they come back to the UK... Until then it's a dream that's only superficially attained by bootlegs. |
For those of you who have not read the Guitar World article with Adam Jones one of are fellow Mxicans worte it up for us.
http://www.sputnikmusic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=462151 ArC Good luck on getting to go to the show man. |
I agree wholeheatedly with Shadius. I also need to buy that Guitar World issue.
EDIT: Holy s'hit, I had no idea APC were officially over. Damn. |

Haha, that sounds nothing like APC, you dummy. :p |

Winner. It's an awful song also. The vocals were just horrid. |
The vocals are my favorite part of that song.
1337lol |
I like the song. It reminds me of APC too much though.
After listening a few times, I think the album is all together "good". But I think Aenima is still the album to beat. |
Maynards lost a lot of his agressiveness in this album.
|
The vocals and that bassline make the song. It's awesome. Neither of which sound like A Perfect Circle? Basslines in APC are usually not prominant at all, and the vocals are unlike anything Maynard has recorded.
I think it's the fact it's fairly commercial sounding for most of it that might remind you of APC, but only because APC can sound like a more commercial Tool at times? *shrug* |
I just hope he actually gets better live. He sounds good for the most part, but he butchers reflections worse than imagine.
EDIT to shadius: The vocals in the beginning remind me of the garbage on the last APC release I like this song better though, because the music doesn't suck. |
I love the "Muddy water" line, and the bassline kicks in. One of those really cool lyric to music moments for me.
