IMO they're better than Cobalt.
The emo one's EP (Summer Fences) is a lot better than their full length. They're really fun, sucks you're in Australia and can't catch 'em live, 'cause they're WAY better live than on album. |
The only bands I've been listening to lately are Abigor, Weakling, and Code.
Weakling is good and Abigor have their moments but Code is fucking awful |

haven't listened to abigor but i really like weakling. agree with code, i guess, although i've only listened to that once, probably a year ago |
I don't understand the constant hate Weakling gets from most BM tards.
Hessians bro HESSIANS. |
i dont like weakling
|
weakling sucks
|
I like crappy black metal because I enjoy Wealking and I really like the last Code album.
|
weakling are all right
|
sigh scenes from hell is so sweet. doesnt really get old
|
they've already got most of a new album done apparently
|
sigh scenes from hell is so sweet. doesnt really get old
yeah one of the few this year that really resonated with me rather random appearance from David Tibet, too |
yeah one of the few this year that really resonated with me

Saw Aguynguerran and Huldrefolk live last night. Was really cool. Huldrefolk's frontman has a really insane stage presence. Afterwards we spoke with the band a bit, they're cool guys. I wish they sounded as good on their albums as they do live.
|
Aguynguerran is awesome, Perverting the Nazarene Cult was one of my favorites last year. Recently though I've been obsessed with the Miserere Luminis album it's soo good
|
sigh is too non linear for me
after a hdd crash I'm missing around 900 albums, among them are all the Uruk-Hai demos. so if you have any, post'em!
|
why does it seem to me that so many bands are getting on the progressive black metal bandwagon? does it seem to me that everyone wants to sound like agalloch or opeth.
|
dude what
|
Like tooootally man bc ya man Opeth is the epitome of Progressive Black Metal yo.
|

|
porcupine tree was mine
|
so, I like noise but can't seem to get into black metal
help? |
so, I like noise but can't seem to get into black metal
help?
u want black noise? |
I don't know
I don't get why I enjoy noise but not black metal. I know I don't like the classic black metal like Immortal, Darkthrone, etc. |

listen to nahvalr. it's basically a big noise experiment with black metal buried deep down inside of it.
the story of the album is really cool too, nahvalr isn't so much a band as it is just a bunch of people from all over the country who collaborated on the album. they would just post the song up and whoever of the group of people wanted to add to it added to it. |

other than that you might try trinacria. they're like as close to a noise rock/black metal hybrid as i can think of.
i only have their album travel now journey infinitely and it's very good. might be what you're looking for. |

^ might check that out
anyone into Blood of Kingu? listened to De Occulta Philosophia like twice now, good stuff. is their new one worth checking out? |
I've only heard the new one and I like it a lot. At times too much atmospheric non-metal parts for my taste, though.
I'll listen go listen to De Occulta Philosophia, you check out Sun in the House of the Scorpion. :p |
will do
edit- listening now, already sounds pretty different to De Occulta Philosophia |
so, I like noise but can't seem to get into black metal
help?
brenoritvrezorkre |
both blood of kingu releases are pretty cool but neither are particularly special. the first one held my attention a bit longer than the second though
|
just had a nice moment with the title track from Brobdingnagian's TortureStainedDisaster
brilliant stuff |
