Listen you little idiot. This isn't the official Tool fanboy santuary, okay? It's for dicussion of Tool. If someone wants to voice an opinion that doesn't jive with your blatant fanboyism. Too fucking bad! |
On the release date of the new album:
I'm getting it April 30th, according to my local CD store. |
why are there different release dates around the world?

...Who the hell are you? Anyway... The new album has definately overtaken Undertow as a whole in my favourite Tool albums spot. Which I guess makes it a 3.5 or a 4 or more which is what i'd rate that album. I rated Ænima and Lateralus as 5's... so i'm not sure if it's going to overtake them, but we'll see!
On the release date of the new album: I'm getting it April 30th, according to my local CD store.
Cool man, nice and early. I think it's 1st of May here, but I havn't checked. All I know is i'll be looking in record stores all that week. |
In order to save me the pain of individually responding to the hundreds of emails I’ve received in the past week about these so-called leaked track listings and other message board rumors (like Cheech, I’ve a lot of **** to do today), I’ve decided to post my reply to one that this typical of the others with hopes that it will curtail the amount of querist clones flooding my inbox: With regards to your question pertaining to “leaked track listings”, perhaps the band members should thank those individuals responsible for such pettifoggery (as someone’s grandfather once called it), saving them the time and energy of fabricating their own spurious album title and track listings (not to mention the expense of actually recording a decoy ‘Toolish’ album – which would be delightfully paradoxical and astoundingly foolish) just to thwart the best intentions of potential bootleggers. I’m afraid the guys have really thrown you a curve this time, as there are currently no song titles with decidedly ethereal names like “Aldaraian”, “Mandalic”, “Hyparxis”, etc. The new release is NOT Lateralus II, and the track listings reflect an altogether different mood. In the Kerrang ? interview (excerpts of which have been posted on the internet), Danny is quoted as saying “This is our blues record. We’re singing the blues.” (NOTE: you might recall that in the January newsletter, Obelisong, the spirit evoked during a Ouija Board Working, when asked what the name of the vocalist in the band was, replied BLUES BIALO, meaning blues voice.) Keeping this in mind, the actual track listings are far more – how should I put it – down to earth than “Laiad Kayenth”, “Paramnesia”, “Luminesce Kaon” and other ‘painted sepulchers, and any would-be ‘Cagliostros’ out there might want to factor this in (as opposed to using Lateralus as a template) when concocting any future bogus titles to disseminate on the web (for whatever reason).
You've quoted this, yet Blair says here how foolish it would be to record a decoy. What is your point in quoting this? |

/Listening to 10.000 days for the first time.
It doesn't grab me yet, but than again, no Tool album did grasp me after the first listen. I know it will grow on me :) Mayanard's voice is weird though, sounds like he's having a cold at times  |

The Pot is awful. The lyrics are very immature and the vocals horrid. Mainly the intro vocals but most of the time though.
I agree that the vocals at the beginning are a tad high and slightly annoying, but i think that the vocals for the remainder of the song are amazing, and in my opinion better than anything Maynard has done before. Sure, the lyrics are a bit immature and don't exactly make the song a mind-opening experience, but i guess in the logical progression of things (Hooker With A Penis, Ticks and Leeches, The Pot [?]), every album has to have the token angry tool song :p (haha, everyone remembers 81st Chakra) |

Not that I believe that there will be another album or whatever, but the word paradoxical is kind of misleading. http://www.webster.com/dictionary/paradox According to this it is possibly true. However, I don't think there will be a new album. P.S. I love 10000 Days. |

The vocals are excellent in general, and the lyrics are good. Tool arn't here to spoonfeed you spirituality. |
Fvcking tickets got sold out in seconds...this is ridiculous.
|
Hey, in four pages we'll need to start speaking 1337.
|
Wow, Dallas took about 2 seconds. I hate the world.
|
They aren't even coming to this neck of PA until, possibly, after the Europe tour.
|
I'm at ticketmaster trying to buy tickets. I've been on since 10am exactly and I can't get through. Anyone else have these problems? Is it just that tons of requests are trying to get processed at the same time?
Nevermind, they are on ebay for 500 a pair. That is so ****ing stupid. These people bought tickets so they can make money, not too see Tool. |
Only $500? :)
Tickets to the Toronto show at the Hummingbird Centre are going for a thousand bucks a pair. |
Well, keep in mind that they have only been on sale for the past 32 minutes...and already they are selling for 700+ on ebay. ****ing money hungry greedy ****s. Thanks assholes.
|
I have just started getting into tool. I have been listening to Lateralus, and 10000 Years. They are both amazing work.

You one of the fans that want to wait for 2 more weeks? |
Has anyone seen this promotional video for 10,000 Days..?
Promotional Video (sorry, if it has been seen already..) Ah! And I just found this interview they had with the band after the release of Lateralus. It's really informative as to what were their thoughts at the time. It also has their views of pirating, it's interesting.. The interview (30minutes) |
Yeah, I saw that video last night, it looks legit.
