Yea we know all that...

Joe it's great when you get on here.
Yea we know all that...

 I feel special. I haven't been on here in a few weeks.

So where's Sundance this year? I just found on Metallica.com that they're playing at the Sundance Festival but I haven't looked into it at all.
I'm just saying.
Ok. I actually agree with James. My amp's distortion (the Line 6) is so much better than my pedal (and vice versa for my old Fender amp). My pedal, with the amp's distortion, just adds fuzz, no volume or distortion added...

STRETCH 02-01-2006 06:13 PM

change of subject:

ive been really likin breadfan lately, and i was wondering do u all know what a breadfan is? Im sure its not someone who is a fan of bread.

yeah I'm the same way. I find it really hard to pick out effects because I don't like how the sound sits on top rather then holding my amps tone. True bypass is so hard to find for a good price.

A breadfan is (guessing based of lyrics) is a rich person

I've only heard that song a few times and so I don't know all the lyrics. But possibly it has to do with being a fan of money. "Brining home the bread"

Joe 02-01-2006 07:53 PM

Same. The common effects are fine but a distortion pedal is hard for me to pick. Also my Dunlop Crybaby doesn't go over so well with my Line 6 but it's absolutely amazing with my Fender.

Bringin' home the dough!!!... to make bread?? I don't know.

www.dictionary.com

:thumb: I can play the Creeping Death solo on keyboard :D

Britton 02-01-2006 08:54 PM

Yea that's what I took breadfan to mean.

If I use pedal effects I put my amp on clean...never cared for distortion on distortion..then again maybe if I had a noise gate that would help.

Joe: Post that up here Please! I wan to hear what it sounds like.

So in the car today...I'm listening to the radio they play some Tallica then the DJ gets on and starts talking about Metallica....the song they played was Until it sleeps...and he said it was off the S&M album....but what they really played was No leaf clover....wow

then he said that the reason Metallica was recording again was because they saw A7X play in san fran...

I wanted to call him up and pick on him...but my phone was at my house.

BLS_Infernus 02-01-2006 09:26 PM

Why would A7X want to make them record? I seriously want to kill the DJ now.

I think I'm going to get that pedal modder (Kelly) to mod my Dunlop Wylde wah for a true bypass. The tone kicks *** with my chorus pedal (MXR M-134) but alone it kind of leaks through. The sweet spots are killer though.

Jev 02-02-2006 01:47 AM

That DJ is retarded. Maybe A7X inspired them somewhat but I doubt they made them record. It's not like Metallica is afraid of competition at all.

superdigg 02-02-2006 04:22 AM

maybe the DJ just meant that metallica saw A7X in concert and thought "aw good times" or something and thought they should start recording and touring with new material again?

if this is true, our hopes for a good album may be crushed :upset:

Jev 02-02-2006 04:29 AM

I liked A7X's new album. If Metallica's new one sounds like that then great.

superdigg 02-02-2006 05:38 AM

I dunno, even if A7X's album WAS good (I've only heard a few singles), i don't think metallica should try and sound like it. old school metallica please.

E_man 02-02-2006 10:17 AM

They need to get back to their grass roots, old school thrash KIll 'Em All baby. If they something like the old days it will rock my socks off

Jev 02-02-2006 11:03 AM

I think those days are gone. If it does sound like old Metallica then great. Personally, I doubt they'll ever make another record like KEA. It'll be more Load/Black Album.

Britton 02-02-2006 12:09 PM

I think that's what he meant when he said that. But the guy is really lame.

Metallica better not sound like A7X

but if it's true that they inspired Metallica the BLS is ****ed
wow. Nice studio.
You had never seen that before?

Jev 02-02-2006 12:46 PM
You had never seen that before?
Only the room they used in the St Anger rehersal DVD.

BLS_Infernus 02-02-2006 02:44 PM

Well they had to rooms to play in with the same setup. They may have used it but it never showed them using it.

I though A7X's album was crap. CoE is pretty lame IMHO.

Britton 02-02-2006 03:17 PM

I need to buy Some Kind of Monster.

Kirk has a awsome personality.

I love that Cigar part.

Doctor Night 02-02-2006 03:18 PM

I need to see that.

Britton 02-02-2006 03:21 PM
I need to see that.
I've seen it twice at my friends house...but both times it was late and we were messing around with our guitars.

I also want the soundtrack thingy

Doctor Night 02-02-2006 03:22 PM

Ther's a sound track to it?

Britton 02-02-2006 03:41 PM

Yea it's just got maybe like 6 songs and I think a couple of them are live

It's just like 6 bucks

Here it is

Hmm I see some good deals in the store

Aw3someman 02-02-2006 06:13 PM

I just noticed on the credits for songs in S&M

The Call of the Ktulu
(Hetfield,Ulrich,Burton,MUSTAINE)

They actually gave him credit for it!

Of course they did.

I think they also gave him credit for The four Horsemen

If he wrote/co-wrote the song, he deserves to be credited. Even if their is animosity between the band and Mustaine.

Whats up 'tallica thread?

BLS_Infernus 02-02-2006 06:52 PM

Mustaine had music in Metallica up until RTL and maybe MoP (I'm not sure on that one though). You can tell a difference in lyric styles with you listen closely. Dave wrote about kicking *** and beating drugs and crap but James/Lars/Kirk/Cliff wrote about losing battles. Yeah I know Dave has done that in Megadeth but that's kind of how his Metallica stuff is.

I never really noticed that. Thanks for the info.

Bazarov 02-02-2006 08:36 PM

According to Dave, Leper Messiah was all his.
"Not only [the songs on] Kill ‘Em All, but 'Ride The Lightning' title track, 'Call Of Kthulu,' parts of 'Leper Messiah…' listen to parts of 'Leper Messiah' and then 'Ride The Lighting.' It’s that same spider chord. I invented that! How the hell can you not credit me for writing that?"
http://www.chartattack.com/damn/2004/09/2105.cfm

BLS_Infernus 02-02-2006 08:39 PM

I don't really believe that

Jev 02-03-2006 10:18 AM

So he "invented" a spider-chord riff structure. Doesn't deserve credit for it. I mean bands who use galloping don't credit the guy who invented it.

I agree entirely. When the writing turned into pure Lars/James/Kirk stuff you saw the more mature Metallica that made them great.
