Nick Drake #99!
Ya, not that good a site. I think I found the link originally on this forum.

lunch998 06-23-2005 03:50 PM

I like some of their lists. Sure they're never going to be perfect for anyboby, but they're interesting to look at.

Yeah, it'd be imipossible to make a list that is accurate and suits everybody's needs. But yes Nick should've been higher.
Why do all n00bs flame rap?
JonG 06-23-2005 04:17 PM

Wow did I hate that, Jimmy Page playing a modified Kashmir to P Diddy rapping.. :upset:

/sadface

I'm over it.

*EDIT*

Joni Mitchell is too high on that list. I can't look at those lists without getting upset :\

TheDMV 06-23-2005 04:28 PM

THey definitley try hard on those lists. I just think that they are based too heavily on influence.

White_heat 06-23-2005 05:05 PM

what list

TheDMV 06-23-2005 05:09 PM
what list
A page back, there was a link posted to 100 greatest folk artists. You can find many many more lists on that site

ATM 06-23-2005 05:12 PM

I just watched Almost Famous.

Illmatic 06-23-2005 05:14 PM
I just watched Almost Famous.
Other than Kate Hudson's ta-tas, I didn't find that flick all that memorable.

ATM 06-23-2005 05:15 PM

I enjoyed it. Granted I had just smoked some David Crosby-worthy ganja, but the movie was still pretty good.

Badmoon 06-23-2005 05:24 PM

Yeah, I own it on DVD :)

Cameron Crowe says it wasn't true (;)), but there is definitely some truth in there. He of course was (realistically) William, and each of the characters represent real musician, I believe.

Check out the resemblances...

Russel Hammond - Dickey Betts :amaze:
Jeff Bebe - Paul Rodgers
Drummer - John Bonham (check out the set also)
Bassist - I don't know

*quick edit*

White_heat 06-23-2005 05:46 PM

So I'm going to a burning spear concert, not really classic rock, but I saw some talk about them here.

Reagge concerts are cool, i think its as close to woodstock as I can get.

Sweet, get yourself to a Jimmy Cliff concert, cause Jimmy Cliff > all.

I love Reggae, except Rastafarianism; it's a bit hypocritical.

White_heat 06-23-2005 06:24 PM

I live in an island which is 100 miles long, 35 miles wide, sucks i cant go to any concerts that are outside of this place, no hippie roadtrips for me. Maybe he will come here someday.

Badmoon 06-23-2005 06:26 PM

Where do you live?

Does anyone have Marcus Garvey?

White_heat 06-23-2005 06:31 PM

Puerto Rico

No, I really want to have it, I heard it's their best.

I don't have anything by them, i listen to them at my friend's car and house, she's a big big fan.

Badmoon 06-23-2005 06:36 PM

Ah, Slowhand's from Puerto Rico, I think; he hasn't been here in awhile.
I don't have anything by them
Who was the drummer for John Mayell and the Bluesbreakers with Clapton? He's pretty good.

babyz4801 06-23-2005 07:21 PM
ok ok, i admit it, i'm a classic rock nut. i love led zeppelin, the beatles, the who, eric clapton, the doors, and so on. most of the bands i listen to broke up years before i was born. at 17, nearly every song on my playlist is older than me. but is it just my imagination, or is classic rock experiencing sort of a revival. i am running into an increasing number of classic rock fans my age. at my school (an all boys high school), the school newspaper took a poll of everyone's favorite genre and band. led zeppeling got 5th and the beatles got 6th, behind that rap crap. classic rock made up a large percent of ppls favorite genre. is this just by me, or are other ppl noticing this too?

This is the thread for general classic rock discussion.
i agree with u. u cant spell (c)rap without rap

robo2448 06-23-2005 07:22 PM

I don't really care when you joined or how much you post, but your posts aren't contributing anything worthwhile to the thread.

Here's an idea:

Shut the fuck up.

Usually, I don't respond that way, but you are just completely ignorant.

You can shut the hell up too.

You aren't contributing anything to the thread, just starting pointless arguments.
