my AP classes in high school did a really crappy job in preparing me for the AP Tests. i got a 4 on my calculus test, but i got a 2 in physics and a 1 in US (i suck at history).

wow a 1?

major ouch...what did you get in the class?

Nostalgia 01-23-2008 10:50 PM

I don't think he means percent.

jrowa001 01-23-2008 10:52 PM

i got a C+. i dont know why, but i just have a hard time in history classes. i can never write essays in those classes or remember names and years. people say its so easy to remember facts, but i prefer equations and formulas. i wouldve done better on my physics test if we didnt spend 80% of our time on projects

Iluvatar 01-23-2008 10:53 PM

I had a 2.6 average gpa (not weighted) in my AP classes (I took like 7 I think) but the tests were all easy.

US History, Chem and Physics were a pain in the *** though.

Angmar 01-23-2008 10:54 PM

I'm really bad at remembering things like order of the presidents and dates, and maps, I'm horrible at maps.

Anglachel 01-23-2008 10:55 PM

I'm getting like

80 in english
50 in physics and psychology
and idk in biology, my teacher isnt capable of getting our marks to us when hes supposed too. Probly 60

Iluvatar 01-23-2008 11:03 PM

I might be gay for this, but Neon Genesis Evangelion is probably the best show ever.

I don't even like anime and I think that =/.

Nostalgia 01-23-2008 11:11 PM

Gov. class is pretty easy. It's like the only form of reference if the constitution, haha.

Pinhead13 01-23-2008 11:13 PM

Earlier today I was able to balance an egg.

That's really bad.

Anglachel 01-23-2008 11:20 PM

yeah

i did no work this semester
well, i did everything but less-than-half-assed and spent most of my class time sleeping or listening to music or something

Angmar 01-23-2008 11:22 PM
Earlier today I was able to balance an egg.
okay

Kage 01-23-2008 11:23 PM

Aren't you going to fail the year with those grades?

Anglachel 01-23-2008 11:32 PM

50 is a pass

exams are worth 20% of my mark
so not if I do well with my exams

and teachers still give you your credit when you have over a 45 anyways.
of course im not going to get into any sort of post-secondary if I keep this up so I'm figuring I'll take my spares next year and do some courses over

Nostalgia 01-23-2008 11:32 PM

It's pretty hard to actually lose credits in high school. I might fail calc. and if I do I'll make the class up online. It's incredibly simple.
50 is a pass
That must compensate for how difficult Canadian education is!

Anglachel 01-23-2008 11:35 PM

It means we can be lazy

so stfu

Angmar 01-23-2008 11:36 PM

I'm doing geometry(shut up I suck at math) at home because of scheduling, although I haven't sent in for my work yet, I probably should soon so I can get it done before summer.

Nostalgia 01-23-2008 11:37 PM

Next year I might have to take math at my college, which sucks since it'll add on another whole hour. Gonna blow.

Deth 01-23-2008 11:38 PM

My friends tell me college algebra is a joke, yet somehow there's something stupid like a 30% pass rate.
I ****ing hate physics.
Word, I wish I were better with physics. If I could do anything in the world, I would want to be an astronomer the most. I find the combination of discrete mathematics and computer science pretty entertaining though.

Iluvatar 01-23-2008 11:40 PM

College algebra is literally Algebra 1 and 2 from high school.

But people who take it normally go to a CC and they are also normally retards.

Transient 01-23-2008 11:41 PM

The education system in the US sounds pretty gay tbh :/

Nostalgia 01-23-2008 11:41 PM

Yes people who go to community college are retards. Intelligent.

Anglachel 01-23-2008 11:41 PM

Did I mention my entire biology class failed our bellringer so badly that it might be omitted?

Anyways, I'm going to sleep

Deth 01-23-2008 11:41 PM

i is smart from us educatin

Transient 01-23-2008 11:42 PM

I'm not saying it's bad, just saying it sounds overly complicated.

Word. But I'm not a retard.
Yes people who go to community college are retards. Intelligent.
I'm going to a Community College right now, and to be frank most of the kids in my classes are ridiculously stupid. It makes me upset I didn't submit my FAFSA in time for scholarships last year.

Seriously, how am I the only kid who passed in my Psychology class. ITS AN INTRO CLASS FOR GODS SAKE.

Deth 01-23-2008 11:45 PM

FAFSA don't give out crap. The bastards.

Nostalgia 01-23-2008 11:46 PM

Are you there because you're doing a free college tuition program through high school (which is what I'm doing) or are you there post-high school graduation?

1338 h4x0r 01-23-2008 11:48 PM
I'm going to a Community College right now, and to be frank most of the kids in my classes are ridiculously stupid.
Sir, I offer you my most sincere sympathies. Most of the smart and interesting students here are foreign. My dorm hall is full of rude gangsta wannabes who would turn me into a hardened racist against blacks if it weren't for all the ultra-polite South Africans here.
If you graduate from a Georgia high school with a 3.0 unweighted GPA and keep it through college, you can go to any state university for free.

That is BALLER ASS SHIT.

Deth 01-23-2008 11:51 PM

That's similar to Florida, but you need a 1260 SAT as well, along with community service ****.

Iluvatar 01-23-2008 11:52 PM

We get 75% off if we have a 3.0, 100% if we get a 3.5

And I'm going to a CC because I couldn't afford UF or UCF last year when I got accepted (no scholarships + unable to get a student loan). I've barely been making due paying for CC classes haha.

Angmar 01-23-2008 11:52 PM

seriously wtf

Nostalgia 01-23-2008 11:55 PM

Hopefully I'll be able to afford tuition after I get my two year. The culinary schools that I'm hopefully eligible for are insane in tuition.

Iluvatar 01-23-2008 11:56 PM

I looked at a culinary school down here and it was like 31k a year.

Wtf man.

Nostalgia 01-23-2008 11:57 PM

What school? I'm talking about Le Cordon Bleu, which I'll hopefully transfer to once I'm finished with my 2 year.

Iluvatar 01-24-2008 12:00 AM
What school? I'm talking about Le Cordon Bleu, which I'll hopefully transfer to once I'm finished with my 2 year.
I honestly don't remember; it was pretty well respected and was located in probably the most exclusive area in Palm Beach (aka Donald Trumps neighborhood) so it might be pricey for that kind of school.

I wasn't that interested in culinary school, was just looking at options.
