Oh okay. I was wondering, because I remember seeing an S&M cd. It honestly never realy interested me. I'de get Live Shit before S&M.

BLS_Infernus 01-31-2006 09:21 PM

I can only listen to a few track on it and it just really isn't my thing. I find that weird seeing as I'm a up-right bass player in an orchestra. For some reason I just can't get into it. It's about the best band + orchestra I've heard tbqh though.

Britton 01-31-2006 09:31 PM

Yea....I don't listen to it very much either.

I find Bleeding me to be a incredible uplifter when I'm down though

Mr.Metalton 01-31-2006 09:58 PM

i think my favorite song on the S&M dvd was Bleeding Me, even though its a song from Load i like that song. I actually like the Load album to be honest. S&M opened my eyes of how you can see their music in 2 perspectives. The way that they harmonize the orchestra and metallica together, and how you can make a band better than the point they already are with a music that hasnt had much credit since the days of Bach and Behtoven.

Hollywood Rose 01-31-2006 11:11 PM

I have the S&M live cd

PepsiMetal 01-31-2006 11:48 PM

Everyone seen this?

http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=11312299&postcount=27

Quite nice. hehe, although DT did maiden better than metallica. Still kickass nonetheless.

Gotta say original bands' songs always sound cooler. Well except few times. lol

Doctor Night 02-01-2006 11:20 AM

Yeh, thats ok.

Man, it's been a while since I came in here.

New Post Record, How Sexy am I!

DaveTheAmazing 2.0 02-01-2006 11:38 AM

Wow James is going bald AND he can't sing any more.

Doctor Night 02-01-2006 11:50 AM

I hope they stop after this next album, cos they're really overdoing it.

Jev 02-01-2006 12:00 PM

They stop what? Making music? I hope not. So what if James goes bald. He can buy a wig.

Britton 02-01-2006 12:02 PM
I hope they stop after this next album, cos they're really overdoing it.
I hope you stop listening to Metallica and posting in here after the next album.

BassMasterMike88 02-01-2006 12:52 PM
They stop what? Making music? I hope not. So what if James goes bald. He can buy a wig.
Thats not the point, his vocal range has been losing its power pretty bad over the last decade or so.

Jev 02-01-2006 01:15 PM

If worse comes to worse they could always get a new singer.

DaveTheAmazing 2.0 02-01-2006 01:27 PM

If you ask me, Metallica are just a joke these days.

Lars can't play drums for his life.

Kirk couldn't even write solos for the last album, and the solos on albums before it were all just wah whored sh*t.

I'm not gunna say anything about Rob until the next album, but James.. ugh.. His voice just plain sucks.

They have lost what value they had as song writers quite a while ago. Protools isn't helping with that, either.

I agree with Doctor Night, they should pack it in.

Jev 02-01-2006 01:55 PM

Kirk was told no solos. He did write some. But I agree, he needs to lay off the wah.

Stormrider 02-01-2006 02:03 PM
If worse comes to worse they could always get a new singer.
I dont realy see anyone else singing for Metallica except for James...but anything could happen.

BLS_Infernus 02-01-2006 03:09 PM

James's voice isn't losing power or anything it's because he blow it out on the black album on the cover song So What. Other then the change in vocal patterns after AJFA he has pretty much stayed the same. I personally like the vocals from the black album and after better.

You want Kirk to lay off the wah when that's all he's ever used? If there is no wah then that's James doing the solo. Yes Lars can't drum very well but he fits Metallica's mold that has made them one of the biggest bands ever. The lyrics are still some of the best around and everything fits for what they do and the sound they are doing. Also they are still due for 2 albums :p

PepsiMetal 02-01-2006 03:10 PM

Definetely don't stop.

I liked St. Anger also, so I'm sure I will like their next album also. And I really couldn't care less if they have hair or not.

Britton 02-01-2006 03:17 PM

Yea sense when does having hair make someone metal? that's bull****

If you all are so pissed about "Metallica sucking" then stop ****ing posting in here.

Happy: Nobody else in the world can sing for Metallica.

Lars' drumming does not suck! he's the second best drummer in the greatest metal band to ever live.

Dave: Kirk wasn't allowed to solo on St. Anger! okay? that's why he didn't do it. If you went to a live show you would see the solos he added. They are great.

James' started losing his voice after the black album? WTF that's when he finaly got a voice. and he didn't blow it sing so what. I saw them in 04 and he had a amazing voice and that was after they had been touring for a year.
Did anyone else watch those Rolling stones concerts videos on the Website?
I thought I heard James singing...and I thought it was pretty good.

Stop bashing Metallica for stupid reasons you can't back up.

BLS_Infernus 02-01-2006 03:21 PM

If you watch SKoM James himself said he blew his voice on So What during the black album and he still had to sing everyother song. I personally think that this was for the best because I like the new vocals better then the old.

Jev 02-01-2006 03:23 PM

He did blow it. He then decided to warm up before singing.

Britton 02-01-2006 03:23 PM

LiKe St. Anger new? or 90's new?

I really have never been picky about his voice...I love the KEA vocals
I love the Black album Vocals the St Anger vocals...so that covers most everything.

Jev 02-01-2006 03:24 PM

I like KEA's vocals because they remind me of Dave Mustaine's vocals.

Britton 02-01-2006 03:25 PM
I like KEA's vocals because they remind me of Dave Mustaine's vocals.
Yea I really like the NWOBHM vocals they used on the demo though

heavy metal kid 02-01-2006 03:30 PM
I like KEA's vocals because they remind me of Dave Mustaine's vocals.
I don't like Mustaine vocals= I don't like KEA vocals.

The black album vocals are great, i really don't know if they should stop making music, the only thing they should never stop doing is touring.

PepsiMetal 02-01-2006 03:45 PM

I dont like dave's vocals either. Especially his earlier ones. I saw a clip on youtube of megadeth in like 80s, and sounded horrible. It was all skreechy and stuff.

Hetfield's best voice was Black album and AJFA. His st. anger vocals are different, not really better or worse.

Stormrider 02-01-2006 04:08 PM

KEA vocals kinda anoy me nowadays. My favorite are from AJFA. Although, I've heard very minimal stuff after the black album.

BLS_Infernus 02-01-2006 04:51 PM

read man...90s

Joe 02-01-2006 04:55 PM

His 86-93 vocals were the best. And yes, the KEA vocals are a bit annoying at times, that's why I listen to live Seek and Destroy, Four Horsemen, and etc a lot more than the album version.
Lars' drumming does not suck! he's the second best drummer in the greatest metal band to ever live.
I disagree to an extent. He doesn't suck, but it seems like sometimes he's clueless.

And the day James is gone, so is the rest of Metallica. There will never be another singer.
You want Kirk to lay off the wah when that's all he's ever used? If there is no wah then that's James doing the solo.
Wrong on about 20 counts.
Kirk couldn't even write solos for the last album, and the solos on albums before it were all just wah whored sh*t.
You're absolutely right!!! I knew it wasn't Lars that wouldn't let him solo!

BLS_Infernus 02-01-2006 05:01 PM

James does solos as well Joe...and Kirk did write solos for St. Anger. Telling Kirk to lay off a wah is like telling Zakk Wylde to lay off of pinch harmonics and overdrive....not going to happen

Joe 02-01-2006 05:03 PM
James does solos as well Joe...and Kirk did write solos for St. Anger. Telling Kirk to lay off a wah is like telling Zakk Wylde to lay off of pinch harmonics and overdrive....not going to happen
I'm aware James does solos. He did Nothing Else Matters, Orion, and a few others. But I'm pretty sure if you listen to 75% of the songs before the Black Album you won't find any wah, specifically in his greatest solos. And even in some of his greatest wah solos he does a great job at it. If you hear The Struggle Within solo, you'll know what I mean. But you're right, NOW telling him is like Wylde getting rid of those
and Kirk did write solos for St. Anger.
Yes he did because he got bored. Lars wouldn't let them be on the album. He did the St. Anger solo only live.

BLS_Infernus 02-01-2006 05:10 PM

Kirk has used a wah since Kill 'Em All

Joe 02-01-2006 05:13 PM
Kirk has used a wah since Kill 'Em All
I realize that, that doesn't mean he's used it in every song. Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton have used wah pedals since they were invented but they didn't use them in every song. Only when the Black Album came out did he start using it nearly all the time. He still uses regular distortion in most of his live and recorded solos.

BLS_Infernus 02-01-2006 05:23 PM

They pretty much use there amps distortion but Kirk uses an Ibanez TS-9 (overdrive) for his solos. James does use pedals since he doesn't like the sound but he has a custom rack eq from Mesa and they used TC Electronic G Majors for St. Anger
Distortion always starts with the amp. Pedals just sit on top of the sound. They don't feel like a full part of it, just some fuzz on top. You can fiddle with parametric EQs and all that **** for days, but it still won't have the smooth distortion of an amp. The last time I used a distortion pedal was on Ride the Lightning. It was an Ibanez Tube Screamer, like Kirk uses. It really helps his solos cut through, but it puts a ****ty coating on smooth rhythm tones, and it was hard to not make it sound like a pedal
Joe 02-01-2006 05:26 PM

That's all very true, yes, but what does that have to do with Kirk and using the wah pedal?

BLS_Infernus 02-01-2006 05:29 PM

I'm just saying.

If anyone would like to know were I've gotten all this information check out http://www.freewebs.com/montyjay/montyjayframes.html
