There's been worse.
This annnoyed me oh so much though \/
Unfortunately, some teenagers are geting into the rap crap and new-age stuff . Even bands that have only one good song (such as Twisted Sister) are better than every song for a band that is new-age .
THere is probably 20+ Pearl JAm songs alone that are two to three tmies as good as we're not Gonna Take It

Woodstock 06-23-2005 12:18 PM
I've seen it before though.
Agreed, Twisted Sister was a bad example.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 06-23-2005 12:19 PM

Well I haven't seen any old black guys making the money that Zeppelin did off stealing songs.
I have Bootleg Series 4 & 6 if you upload that one I'll have all the live bootlegs. :)
If you upload 6 you will be my hero :).

I've seen it twice. The first time I decided to buy 5 instead. The second time was yesterday and I decided to buy All Things Must Pass instead.

robo2448 06-23-2005 12:22 PM
I llove Visions of Johanna. But the whoole album is great. I'd say better than Blood on the Tracks.
I like Blood on the Tracks better. Visions of Johanna is amazing. That's my friends favorite Dylan song. He's the only other person I know that likes Dylan.

Edit- Triple post

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 06-23-2005 12:23 PM

I really would but I can't upload anything because YSI doesn't works for me. Sorry. :-/

I've got all my friends into Dylan. musical cult++++
Why do you mention just USA? Are you saying I don't listin to psychedelic bands that have pop elements and melody/harmony in them? What about the Moon, Os Mutantes, the Beatles, West Coast Art Experimental Band, Beach Boys (/Brian Wilson)? All of those have plenty of melody/harmony and pop element in them. Are you saying Syd Barrett isn't as psychedelic?
Because they are different compared to San Fran acts;I am simply using them for comparison (to my knowledge), and I am not stating that if a band has melody they can't be Psychedelic. But I do believe without good melody and emphasis on it, a band is terrible.
Being experimental is what psychedelia is all about. I mean without that experimentation factor psychedelic music wouldn't exist.
That's why I didn't say they did not completely try to be unexperimental; I'm stating how these bands were.
I find it rather ironic that a Dead Head is calling USA "unlistinable". Anthem of the Sun is a real breeze to listin to.
I'd say it is much more listenable than the USA's s/t; it really doesn't contain a very annoying voice, terrible sounding string work, and harmony that could not be worse.

And whoever said that I find that album listenable or enjoyable?

Badmoon 06-23-2005 12:29 PM
I'm trying to say thats its not just Zeppelin is stealing music. From what I can remember Schyma is a blues fan, and do you how many blues artists steal eachother's work.
Yes, for one who enjoys Blues to completely condemn them is hypocritical. Good point.

Broken Arrow 06-23-2005 12:29 PM
Well I haven't seen any old black guys making the money that Zeppelin did off stealing songs.
This is obviously true, but also its not like Zeppelin stole every one of their songs.

Whateva.

I'm working on Dylan. None of them have bought anything, but I have got them somewhat interested. I'm also working on The Beatles and Pink Floyd. I've converted a couple to Floydheads :thumb:

Most of the people at my school actually like classic rock and jambands. However, they usually just have a greatest hits of many different bands or just a couple albums by someone. There are a bunch of really big fans like me though.

Walrus Gumboot 06-23-2005 12:32 PM

Anyone like Michael Powers?

robo2448 06-23-2005 12:34 PM

No offense Walrus but that avatar is kind of freaking me out.

TheDMV 06-23-2005 12:35 PM

IT sort of reminds me of an octopus' eye. Anyone else getting that / is that what it really is?

They look like different species of frog eyes.

robo2448 06-23-2005 12:53 PM

/me needs a new avatar.

I'm looking for a Dylan one. I'm trying to find one with him smoking, but it looks like I'll have to settle for him playing the harmonica.

Glitterati 06-23-2005 12:56 PM

I have a cool Dylan avatar.

Edit - robo, I love the song mentioned in your user title. I used to have the link for that site for longer user titles:upset:

Yea you do have a good avatar, but you switch your avatar everyday. Tangled Up in Blue is amazing. One of the songs that got me into Dylan.

Whats a good Alan Parsons Project album?
I'm going to see Bob Dylan now :D
Lucky :upset:

July 18, 19, and 20, he's in Vancouver (my hometown). All sold out, of course...

BludgeonySteve 06-23-2005 02:43 PM

I don't go see concerts.

I'd like to but my parents always argue against every concert that comes. Bob Dylan is too old to sing and play according to them.

It'd be the exact opposite for me. If I wanted to go, my mom would beg to go with me.

I'm so psyched for my Alice Cooper concert in October!!!!!

So they don't let you go because he's old?

Badmoon 06-23-2005 03:20 PM

Minor problem ;)

Compared to Leadbelly and Pete Seeger not being in the top 5!!!

TheDMV 06-23-2005 03:22 PM

Yeah, I used to post on that website, I think the lists are pretty good. THen they went to a traditional forum thing and I didn't feel like joining

Glitterati 06-23-2005 03:26 PM
Nick Drake #99!
I share in your indignance.

I haven't heard of most of the guys on that list.

That sucks. I didn't get to see him either. He didn't come to NY, but he came to Norwich, CT on Monday which is near where I live. There were plenty of tickets, but I had my last final exam on Tuesday so she wouldn't let me go. :upset:
