I'd like to see them try I Cum Blood (Cannibal Corpse) or Story to Tell (Death). No joke. Or, My Journey to the Stars (Burzum).

I'd like to see them try Flattening Of Emotions by Death.

PepsiMetal 01-30-2006 08:50 PM

I'd like them to do thrash covers. I don't want to see them do any black or death metal. Unless they don't do vocals at all then I guess it'll be better as instrumental.

I'd like them to do slayer's seasons in the abyss, I love that song.

Or megadeth's symphony of destruction, wake up dead, or trust.

Or how about for some change, do some iron maiden covers. That would be awesome. Maybe cover brave new world, or no more lies. ok, Now Im dreaming.

Or dream of mirrors. Damn that would be great.

BLS_Infernus 01-30-2006 08:54 PM

well they did some covers of Megadeth when they went out on tour with them in 93 or 94. Lars couldn't do the drumming on Seasons in the Abyss and they would need another guitar for Iron Maiden

Bazarov 01-30-2006 08:57 PM

Metallica and Megadeth have toured together?

Yea, somewhere in bewteen 92-93

Why would they need to have another guitar for iron maiden? They don't have to play it exactly the same. I don't want it to sound exactly the same. But they can do it, no doubt about it. Obviously just a bit different though and add tallica spice.

About seasons of abyss drumming, well lars can just add some other beat. Again it doesn't have to be exactly the same, but guitars and bass could be probably.

Mr.Metalton 01-30-2006 09:18 PM

i dont know why even maiden needs 3 guitarists, two is fine. 3 is only good when u have them dualing each other out. At Ozzfest only one guitarist played solos and the others just did rhythm.

PepsiMetal 01-30-2006 09:20 PM

Well 2 guitarists in maiden usually harmonize and other one adds some cool effects and crap by picking a note or two and stuff. Iron Maiden songs with 2 guitarists would sound quite good as well.

clairvoyant 01-30-2006 09:26 PM
. At Ozzfest only one guitarist played solos and the others just did rhythm.
If by that you mean, during the whole set, only one guitarist played solos, then you are terribly mistaken.

If you mean at a time, one guitarist played a solo, then I guess you are right. They tend to harmonize leads, but not solos.

no i mean only one guitarist during the whole damn set played solos for some reason. it made me mad because i watched the Rock in Rio DVD a month before that and when they played the trooper all three guitarist played the solo at the same time. i wanted to see that at ozzfest but only one of the played the solo.

PepsiMetal 01-30-2006 09:43 PM

Yea it's true some songs 2 or all 3 play exactly same solo except dave usually adds some whammy, and such. But if you watch brave new world from Rock in Rio, in the beginning, all 3 play different parts.

Old school bootleg of Metallica back in the Mustaine days playing Mechanix. I don't know who's seen it, oh well.

Yea I have that whole concert.

I like to think about Metallica in the 90's with dave...it would have been something.

Darkguitar 01-31-2006 02:33 AM

I`ll tell you cool Metallica songs..

Everybody knows the coolest Metallica songs, but nothing beats a LIVE metallica performance..I`ve seen them once here in Norway...I taped it all..
It`s a shame really that they dont come to Norway anymore..I have to leave Scandinavia now to see them..

Metallica have oter great songs too...like their version of Sabbra Cadabra rocks, and The Four Horsemen is my all time favourite..

I love the fact that youve given birth to a thread with only `tallica on it..keep it alive.. Fans unite!!!:chug:

PepsiMetal 01-31-2006 02:45 AM

Yes, metallica is indeed one helluva band.

Jev 01-31-2006 10:13 AM

The Iron Maiden covers... Personally I think James' singing would butcher them.

Zildjian 01-31-2006 01:27 PM
I've come to the conclusion we need another Garage Inc.
Yea we need some more misfits and lynard skynard covers.

I agree. I think that Bruce should do the vocals. I would love to hear how the guitar would sound for songs like 2 minutes to midnight and Number of the beast if it were done by metallica. That would completely rock!

That isn't a bad idea, they did it with Danzig, they played some Misfits/Danzig medley with Glen Danzig at vocals.
That isn't a bad idea, they did it with Danzig, they played some Misfits/Danzig medley with Glen Danzig at vocals.
Really? That's awesome.

I wonder if Metallica would ever consider doing a Venom cover? I know Venom is a big influence on James.

PepsiMetal 01-31-2006 02:14 PM

I think James could do decent vocals. It wouldn't be as high as Bruce's, but he would do fine I think.

Anyways, how about simple man or freebird for a Skynyrd cover. hehe That would kick ass.

2muchket! 01-31-2006 02:14 PM

The vocals wouldn't sound right if james did 'em. ALthough if bruce did I think it would sound pretty good.

heavy metal kid 01-31-2006 02:15 PM

Oh yeah, and Venom isn't that hard to play, not only was a big influence on James, Lars consider them "real" Heavy Metal.

lightningmetal666 01-31-2006 02:31 PM
Oh yeah, and Venom isn't that hard to play, not only was a big influence on James, Lars consider them "real" Heavy Metal.
Yeah I have some guitar pro tabs of their early stuff. Their drummer is not what I would exactly call "solid". Still some good songwriting.

I think if metallica did these songs, they have a lot of room and potential to really improve songs like Welcome to hell and black metal.

Do you have the album Welcome to Hell, and if so, would there be anyway you could upload and email it for me.

On topic: I'd like to see Metallica play Don't Burn The Witch.

Limewire will have it

Metallica would do a sweet version of sympathy for the devil
Limewire will have it

I lack the limewire.

Britton 01-31-2006 05:07 PM

I hate when someone says "Oh go get it off Limewire" I don't have it! if I did I wouldn't be asking you for it LoL

So what's going on in here? It seems like you all are talking about Tallica covering some more songs?

I'm gonna get a Metallica wallet sense mine got jacked a couple weeks ago and I really need one.
