i'm not saying he can't drum. i just don't like stuff like this, where dudes are pretty much wanking themselves and showing off their ability to play crazy stuff. it sounds bad. i don't like listening to stuff that sounds bad. i feel the same way about shredding.

there's a difference between playing really fast for the sake of it, or showing off your knowledge of scales - and using your knowledge and skill to create something uniquely creative and interesting.

if you can't tell the difference, then I pity you. you're missing out.

i am not a proponent of jazz musics, but calling buddy rich devoid of uniqueness or creativity is laughable. he exists in a genre you just honestly have no real appreciation for, just like someone who listens to buddy rich would have no appreciation for any random skramz band, regardless of how creative they may be for the genre.

also buddy rich is sick as **** give him time.
