Maiden Voyage. That was it.

the2stranger 05-28-2007 02:19 PM

Maiden Voyage is indeed excellent. :D
This guy should really make another release.

But I recommend you to stay away from Amaranthine Trampler, hisother project.
Which seems like the project where he experimented with a lot of bad ideas and boring riffs, before giving us the wonderful The Journey Embarks.
Mammatus is the best stoner rock band in existence though, for the person looking for recommendations.
Nah, they're mediocre

I've heard better bands in my hometown

Colour Haze is the best stoner band in existence :)

Shattered_Future 05-29-2007 11:48 AM
Where have you even heard it already? Myspace?
Band's website.

And I lied. I don't like the guy's voice, but the music is nice and heavy.

Kage 05-29-2007 12:54 PM

Idk, you gotta hit up an entire album.

metal-militia 05-29-2007 02:02 PM

I'm going to see Trouble tomorrow :) Anyone jealous?

repcak 05-29-2007 02:10 PM

no, i don't even know them :p

btw. Kage... i won the tickets :D thx once again!

Kage 05-29-2007 02:10 PM

**** yeah, man. That's awesome. I hope you enjoy the movie.

repcak 05-29-2007 02:12 PM

yeah, i hope this too... i will tell you tomorrow evening how i liked it - its 22pm now; so in 26h ;)

Txus 05-29-2007 07:36 PM

Mammatus are really good Stoner, not the best though. Same with Colour Haze, I don't know which is my favorite Stoner band tbqh :(

Bongripper have been kicking my *** lately though.

And Maiden Voyage are really ****ing great. My 2nd favorite FD band after Shapes.

Dimmu Burger 05-30-2007 11:45 PM

I got a Solitude Aernus album the other day, but I haven't put it on my iPod yet. Any fans?

Iron Bars 05-31-2007 02:29 AM

Their pretty good. Sounds alot like Candlemass, especially the vocals when compared to Candlemass new album.

metal-militia 05-31-2007 07:48 AM

Solitude Aeturnus are great. I've been listening to Into The Depths of Sorrow a lot recently.
Trouble were fantastic last night and the set list was very good. I even managed to shake Eric Wagner's hand! :thumb:

RetiredAt21 05-31-2007 09:19 AM

I just lost all my music files on my computer, so if someone could be so kind as to upload Moss' "Cthonic Rites" for me, I would really appreciate it.

Iron Bars 05-31-2007 09:57 AM

I'm on it.

Edit: Check your rep

Well, considering the guy from SA sings on Candlemass's new album, it's not suprising.

I love SA. One of the best doom metal bands out there.

I'm gutted that I missed this one. I have the Live at Stockholm DVD and they look like such a great live band. How Eric sings that good while smoking constantly is beyond me.

People who don't like Trouble are most definitely not metal.

Ah you caught me.

NP: Candlemass - Demonia 6

RetiredAt21 06-01-2007 06:12 AM

I'm blazed and listening to Moss. Life is perfect right now.

Well, not ever. Maybe doomwise.

Dimmu Burger 06-01-2007 01:24 PM

Can someone recommend which Neuosis albums I should get?

Nepenthe 06-01-2007 01:31 PM

A Sun That Never Sets

AA-12 06-01-2007 01:47 PM

Anyone know of some good stoner/doom (probably stoner) metal that is heavy on southern influence?

Nepenthe 06-01-2007 01:48 PM

Yay a chance to whore these guys.

Across Tundras

I've got a link to.

AA-12 06-01-2007 01:49 PM

It's pretty good so far (their MySpace).

EDIT: Holy ****, Cortez the Killer

Nepenthe 06-01-2007 01:52 PM

I tried to whore them a long while back but no one payed any attention. You want the link?

AA-12 06-01-2007 01:53 PM

To an album? Hell yes I do.

Nepenthe 06-01-2007 01:55 PM

Uhyesur. Sent. I love these guys.

AA-12 06-01-2007 01:57 PM

Thanks a ton :)

Shattered_Future 06-01-2007 09:19 PM

Southern Influence? Maybe...Eyehategod? I'm not sure.

Man, I completely forgot about Remembrance. They were one of the first bands to friend us on Myspace. Found their album...GOOOOD funeral doom. Programmed drums are meh, but I'm used to them from all the programming I do.
Anyone know of some good stoner/doom (probably stoner) metal that is heavy on southern influence?
Alabama Thunderpussy is what you need. Their new one is fantastic.

although i find it difficult to listen to the whole album, the singing is atrocious, but the music sounds so big and mean its definately on its own :)

Nepenthe 06-02-2007 11:35 AM

Across Tundras' vocals are part of their brilliance. They're supposed to be technically unsound, it adds to the whole old south feel.

Bartender 06-02-2007 11:37 AM

Halfway to Gone, maybe. They're definitely very much on the rock side of the stoner rock bit though, away from the doom.
