You know I was listening to Saucerful of Secrets off Ummagumma today and you know I never really thought about it before but that song really is brillent. Everybody for most of the song is just trying to get whatever sound out of their instrment that they can. Wright isn't even playing piano, hes just bashing the keys. And then at the end they bring it all together with Gilmour's amazing vocals on it (his best work in my opinion).

Its kind of like The Final Cut where its not Pink Floyd as much as a solo album relased under Floyds name for whatever reason. Its great instrumentally, but its lacking with lyrics (kind of like The Final Cut, but the other way around). Its a great album, but not a great Pink Floyd album, it that makes any sense.

I inherhited (sp?) my dads vinyls when he died, and he had a few Pink Floyds I immediatly snatched up. he had Relics (with the alternate cover of those face things), A Nice Pair, Wish You Where Here, The Final Cut, and i had to buy DSOTM and the Wall from this guy i know. And i am still looking for other Floyd vinyl stuff.

no, Momentary Lapse of Reason was like The Final Cut. Because Final Cut was like Waters solo and MLOR was a Gilmour solo. Divison Bell had the whole band on it(except Waters of course).

True but thats why I made the compared it to Final Cut, the Division Bell is the whole band but without Roger, Final Cut is Roger but in a way with out the band. I mean there were songs where they added things to the record, but they are few and I think Waters took a lot of control of it.

Unfortunately, I don't have a live version of Ummagumma, only the actual album on tape.

As of now it is my favorite Pink Floyd song. All of them are just pushing all of their instruments to their limit, and getting every sound out of them until they can until the end when they just end with an amazing melody. I don't like it on the album, but it is great live.

And on Live At Pompeii it is the most interesting song to watch. I like the part where they show Rick smashing the piano keys with his elbows and the palm of his hands like if he was a 6 year old who starts to play on his family piano, thinking that he is actually making music. And of course, when Dave sits down with his guitar and just plays around with it, as well as Water's bannging that gong like there was no tomorrow. Mason's part was a bit boring, but good, nonetheless.

im listening to prism right now...its really a good recording, crowd is a little loud but you can still hear floyd, and thats all that matters.

I always found the idea of listening to The Wall live to be a bit weird, considering what influenced the album.

I saw part of it now, and it's a behind the wall thing, it doesn't appear on the DVD of the Wall, though. They show a lot of them playing a lot of the songs from the Wall live, as well as interviews with all of PF.

None of them liked the idea of the Wall, except Waters.
