Exactly, thats what imporant. I cant think of one rock band who didn't take the wrong fork in the road at least once. Harris, as much as i love him, is such a determined and hard headed guy that i dont think he wanted to see this band that he put so much of his life and soul into die, and living in a half-*** version of it was better than pulling the plug. Yet like all hard times in groups careers, they returned with the best come back album i can think of and are stronger than ever. Many bright days await us in the land of Maiden :)

Yes, it will be a place of eternal sunshine for more than a while, I hope.
|
**** right... Though I do think people seriously under-rate Blaze's material with the band. Sure, it wasnt as good as other stuff but I think things happen for a reason and Blaze's stint in the band showed the rest of them that they sounded best with Bruce, and no-one could really replace him
|
They wrote some good songs when Blaze was in the band, just I feel he wasn't as good a singer as Bruce or Paul. I like the sound of the first 2 albums with Paul singing, it just sounds more raw. Bruce is still my favourite singer Maiden have had.
|
My take on Maiden. I like Dickinson better than Diano. My favourite album is Piece of Mind and song...Revelations. Concert viewings=2. They also happen to have the best fvcking artwork of any band ever. Musically sound. The whole band.
Tidbit of sad Info: Searched the whole of the UK for a Maiden tee came up with fvck all. :upset: |
I have a Number Of The Beast tee-shirt
|
Did you get it in the UK? See I couldve got one at either of the concerts, but I wanted one from England, for authenticites sake.......or something.

Do you need to keep reminding us? ;) I got my Iron Maiden tee-shirt from the shop round the corner...But I got a Maiden Lighter from the Concert :thumb: |
simple solution buy the cds. Nuh, i download half my **** to. I think Arch Enemy have done some Maiden covers. I know they did Aces High. You can also get Women in Uniform on the Visions of the Beast DVD. Itz got some killer clips on it, and a couple of cool cartoon versoins of there music clips. Any way if you don't have it check it out
That was children of bodom, although I'm sure that arch enemy have played it once or twice in their lives :P |
Run to the hills! Run for your lives!
|
I have got the Visions of the Beast, Out of the Silent Planet, Live after Death, Wildest Dreams and a Brave New World t-shirt :thumb:, but none of them are signed :upset:
|
I have a live after death t-shirt a dance of death tour one
and an aces high hoodie none signed though :thumb: dance of death is a fantastic album the rot set in long before blaze arrived because NPFTD and fear of the dark were poor by maiden standards the whole of the 90's were poor maiden albums by their 80's standard then they did BNW which was brilliant If Steve wanted to write songs about his own personal suffering he shold do it in a good Dream of mirrors/sign of the cross way not a Judgement of heaven way |
I have a dance of death t-shirt, a key ring and I got the the Dod album over a month before it came out. Plus I got all that for free.
^^^^
or even worse, The X Factor. I really think Steve wanted to keep the band going so badly that he kept them alive despite how the group sounded with Blayze, the only point in Maiden history that i really think was a mistake.
WHAT?! i love The X factor ,one of my favourites, and Virtual XI are a good album... i guess i have an weird thing about liking albums that the average fan of that band dont, i love Metallicas Load and Reload to... i dont think maiden have ever released an album thats anywhere near the average albums bands put out... |
AmIDemon666, would the the number of the beast's neighbour be 664? 667 would be across the road.
"Six six six, the number of the beast. six six four, the bloke next door" does anyone have that t-shirt? |
across the road would still be the neighbour..
and... my avatar have! :p |
claudio sanchez says iron maiden rox, thats good enuff 4 me

If you search back a few pages, you'll see I posted some pictures of Claudio with his Iron Maiden shirt on, and the bassist for Coheed also shows a lot of influence by Steve Harris (even though he still hasn't gotten the bright idea to do fills). |
i dont think maiden have ever released an album thats anywhere near the average albums bands put out...
:thumb: true. The X Factor and Virtual XI were bad for a Maiden album, but pretty good for a regular one. |
Listening to The Clansman.
|
people say that bruce's voice keeps getting better, but sadly i have to disagree.
compare his voice on DOD and BNW to piece of mind or powerslave, on the newer albums his voice sounds frail and he cant hold a note for as long anymore without making it sound all shaky. not to say that it isnt good, even on the newer albums hees still one of my favourite vocalists ever, and its understandable that he doesnt sound the same since he's aged 20 somehting years. |
on a slightly diferent note, i recently started getting nito iced earth and i would have to ssay that matt barlow isa my favourite vocalist ever!
how many other maiden fans like iced earth and/or matts voice? |

i got around 15 Maiden shirts, i have over 250 band tee shirts (50 of them being Metallica ones that i dont wear at all anymore really lol) but my favourite is probley my "somewhere in time" shirt or my "brave new world" / "give'em edd till im dead" tour shirts from the two shows ive seen :) |
Do you need to keep reminding us? ;)
I got my Iron Maiden tee-shirt from the shop round the corner...But I got a Maiden Lighter from the Concert :thumb:
Yea can't help it i'm just soooo proud. You would be to. You been to any maiden concert's. |
i adore Load and Re-Load, but the X albums i can do without.
there are some outstanding 90's songs though like Fear of the dark bring your daughter to the slaughter Sign of the cross lord of the flies tailgunner and if you believe the rumour that alot of BNW songs were left over from virtual XI sessions who knows what else? |
WHAT?! i love The X factor ,one of my favourites, and Virtual XI are a good album... i guess i have an weird thing about liking albums that the average fan of that band dont, i love Metallicas Load and Reload to...
