they put on great live shows at least, you'll be entertained i promise
|
Yeah its funny after that show yesterday I realize the power of the breakdown. The bands with breakdowns had lots of kids moving around where Arsis and Abigail Williams didn't have much.
|
power of the breakdown
|
idk i guess its all about what they want to hear, its easier to move to that stuff than to stuff like arsis and AW
whatever the breakdown has no power |
Misery Signals was the shiznit and had breakdowns and credibility, so its all good.
|
How come PTH is so much better than every band they're associated with?
|
maybe thats the card they wanna play
who knows |
Because they're on Vagrant, and because before they shook it up their management threw them on the scene-iest tours they could to make money (because scene kids will buy anything). Their tours are getting progressively better; I'll take Unearth over Silverstein any day of the week.
|
their music kind of makes them the odd man out on pretty much any tour they go on it seems. it's almost like they wouldn't fit the bill on any tour they could be put on.
|
they could easily be part of a iron maiden or judas tour
since protest is like the best combo of old skool and new school metal/hardcore |
wow yeah thats true, i never thought of that but it totally makes sense
|
lol
|
glad i can help u out buddy

my sentiments exactly |
I'll third that.

Ok so I've decided that Blindfold's Aside is my favorite song. ever. the climax sends chills down my spine.
Also, what Protest song would be good for learning on guitar. I am good, but not quite Protest good. I can play all of The Dissentience and some of Nautical, Limb from Limb, and Heretics and Killers, but the rest are ****ing hard. plus, I want to be able to play the song through. I'm leaning towards Blood Meat. Suggestions? |
Protest the hero have like 300 riffs per song but none of them sound like they took more than a minute to come up with. Just saying.
|
some of the riffs are insanely difficult man
idk what you're talking about |
Difficult to come up with is not the same as difficult to play. I know they're difficult to play but they don't sound to me like they put very much thought into writing them. Just sayings.
|
oh, well i see where you're coming from
but i just happen to disagree |
k.
It is, however, impossible to disagree that any band trying to cover them is going to lose their minds and probably call it quits. |
I think they actually write good songs, that's why I like them. I'm not really into technical stuff. Plus they're from my home town, and one of them went to the same highschool as me. Added bonus there :p.
|
Okay, does anyone else think the piano bit on Spoils sounds like it was ripped from the Sims soundtrack?
|
Probably.
I think their riffs are actually more difficult to write than to play. A lot of them are just really cleverly written and not nearly as hard to play as they sound. |
I dunno man, plenty of my friends who have been playing guitar for years say that most of the stuff on Fortress is incredibly challenging.
|

best way to describe pth tbh |

Yeah I can imagine they are. I'd suggest learning stuff from Calculated Use Of Sound or whatever its called. Yeah I don't really like it all that much. |
kezia tbh would be easier to learn. especially songs like heretics and killers.
|
the only riff i know is the little arpeggio with the pinch harmonic on nautical
CHUGCHUGCHUGdudududududuTWANG |
