I do. It's pretty good. Especially Mother. I actually like it better than The Wall.

Surf 10-04-2006 08:43 PM

'is there anybody out there?'? its very good, i prefer it to the original recording; its got a few new songs and the atmosphere adds something to it.

but there's some bootlegs i've got as well; qualities not as good and they're pretty much the same

so, in conclusion: buy is there anybody out there? - better than the original

Yield 10-04-2006 08:45 PM

I want to get Mason's book. I read Saucerful of Secrets and it was great.

Since I've seen a bunch of lists, I'm gonna do one, too.

1. Animals
2. PATGOD
3. Dark Side of the Moon
4. The Wall
5. The Final Cut
6. Meddle
7. A Saucerful of Secrets/ Wish You Were Here
8. A Momentary Lapse of Reason

edit: I don't have the wall live, but Waters in Berlin I do have. It wasn't bad, but the way some of the other artists played and sang the songs messed with my head

AnyColour74 10-04-2006 08:47 PM

i think it's better than the regular wall. what shall we do now? kicks arse, and the last few bricks is really good as well. the only dissapointment on there for me is the trial. but i can understand, that is hard to do in concert.

Danger Bird 10-04-2006 09:04 PM

Ooh, can I do a list?

1. Saucerful of Secrets
2. Meddle
3. Piper
4. Ummagumma
5. DSotM

ghettoeddo 10-04-2006 09:56 PM

laser show this friday and im gonna try and go! :]

Danger Bird 10-04-2006 10:08 PM

I would have to say don't bother unless you have a fat sack of mushrooms or an even fatter sack of weed.

Leper 10-04-2006 10:14 PM

Haha that would be sweet on mushrooms. I'd be too afraid to actually go into a theater on mushrooms though...

BurningSky 10-04-2006 10:25 PM

I did mushrooms last night, it was sweet...

I staired at a popcorn ceiling for two hours thinking it was a big bowl of oatmeal that was being mixed around...
I want to get Mason's book
It's a real good read. Every major studio album basically has an entire chapter dedicated to it, and Mason's a great story-teller with plenty of wit.

Apocalyptic Raids 10-05-2006 05:35 AM

I just finished watching Pink Floyd & The Syd Barret story, it was quite good.

Jim 10-05-2006 05:58 AM

Yeah I thought so too. Seeing how he lived was a bit of an eye-opener. And when he was painting his room, he accidentally painted himself into the corner
Hey I finally bought AMLOR. And after the first listen I can safely say I dig it entirely and don't think it deserves quite so much flack. A bit rough around the edges but I think they did well without Roger and it deserves to stand (albiet in the shadow) of it's bigger brother - The Division Bell.

Favourite tracks are probably Signs of Life, On the Turning Away, Yet Another Movie and Dogs of War - which is frankly the effing shiznit.

AHM is the only studio album I have left to get. Do I dare?
Your favorite tracks on that are entirely different than mine. Mine are One Slip, Sorrow, and Learning to Fly. You are right though, it gets more crap than it deserves.
AHM is much better than AMLOR imo and I think most people here would agree with me.
Meh, they are 2 entirely different sounds though.

AnyColour74 10-05-2006 03:01 PM

^ agreed about AHM and AMLOR

Surf 10-05-2006 04:56 PM

i prefer the live versions of the later songs. something about them changes, they become more alive (cheesy i know). but there's a different energy.

the studio versions of high hopes and sorrow and especially learning to fly and coming back to life are pretty dead next to the pulse versions.

Montana 10-06-2006 09:48 PM

Yes, Is There Anybody Out There is phenomenal. For about 3 years it was the only version of The Wall that I had. I loved hearing Outside the Wall in one piece.

I've got to get a new copy of Pulse, my old disk is just pathetic.

Matt? 10-06-2006 09:52 PM

hey anybody seen austrailian pink floyd?

they are coming through my town and i've heard they are pretty good.

worth seeing?

Yield 10-06-2006 10:28 PM

I'm thinking of getting pulse or Is there anybody out there? which one is better.

Apocalyptic Raids 10-06-2006 10:34 PM

I want to get Pulse.

Lucky Christmas is near :D

Absolutely. I've seen them twice, and when they do their U.K tour this year, I no doubt will again. They are an awesome tribute band, best I've ever seen in the way of tribute bands anyway. The lighting show and general sound of the band is extremely accurate of Floyd.

Matt? 10-07-2006 10:40 AM

thanks a lot, i think i'm gonna see if i can snag tickets in that case

AnyColour74 10-07-2006 11:10 AM

just got the pulse dvd

worth seeing?
I caught them on tv once. They were great; very accurate.

Surf 10-07-2006 12:41 PM

I've never heard them, but i've heard about them. lots of good things, bery professional apparently, good performance and good light show etc
I'm thinking of getting pulse or Is there anybody out there? which one is better
i'd go for is there anybody out there. brings a whole new perspective to the wall. whilst pulse does this for the later tracks, there's more depth to the wall. go for the second one; its great

BludgeonySteve 10-07-2006 02:30 PM

The Australian Pink Floyd thing is very good. You can probably watch a little on youtube.

robo2448 10-07-2006 03:08 PM

I really want to go see them.

Ephemeral 10-07-2006 04:04 PM

I bought Ummagumma

RNR, if you are looking for any Pink Floyd albums, HMV has there monster sale on right now, and have like all their Pink Floyd stuff on for 50% off. In Market Mall at least.

Danger Bird 10-07-2006 06:37 PM

Ummagumma is my favorite, enjoy.

Montana 10-07-2006 06:42 PM

What's HMV?

I don't have Ummagumma.

Riva 10-07-2006 07:30 PM

HMV is a music store, and yeah, they seem to have a habit of marking down Pink Floyd albums at a moment's notice. Good news for me, when I was still collecting them. The Wall for 20 bucks Australian.
