Im looking for a good splash...i want something fast and bright. I was looking at Zildjian A Custom Splash and Sabian AAX Splash. Which would be better.

And also is the Zildjian K Custom Dark Crash 18" good?
K custom dark crash is good. as for splash i dont really like the AAX's, but the AA's are awesome. Look into some of those.

try the AAX Stage hats and the Studio hats, the Studio ones will be lighter than the stage hats but the stage hats are great all around and very versatile.

For christmas i Got an AAX stage pack including 14" hats, 16" crash and 20" ride. Also i got a Sabian AAX 8" splash and a 16" AA china. Im looking for some advice on another crash that might blend we'll with the 16" stage crash. What do you guys think of HHXplosion and larger AAX stage crashes?

-TheGlassPrison- 01-03-2006 03:38 PM

18" AAX Stage.

full collapse 01-03-2006 08:18 PM

Looking for a 21" or 22" inch ride that has a strong loud solid bell, good amount of ping with some amount of wash. Needs to be versatile but, leans more towards heavier types of music and some hi-hats that would complement it. Any brand. Price isn't an option.

I have been looking at the 22" K Heavy and 22" K Custom, the K has the ping I want and the K Custom has more of the bell I want. Hahaha, any suggestions on something in between the two?

What do you look think of the Sabian HH Bright Hats?

VTDS_xx 01-04-2006 09:42 AM

^Good hats. Heard/saw them being played live and they sounded great!

Chris 01-04-2006 11:15 AM

^^^

Quite funny, I brought them as Wembley didn't have new beats. And can't make my mind up if to get the new beats or not.

take a look at the HHX Power Ride...as for the hats, never go wrong with HHX Groove hats

Eikon 01-04-2006 03:53 PM

Looking into getting a new china. I've narrowed it down to a Zildjian Oriental "Trash", But I don't know what size I should get. Any help would be nice.

By the way, I play mostly rock and progressive rock, and some metal.

terry_bozzio_wanna_be 01-04-2006 05:42 PM

i am looking for hihats with clean cutting response and tight, crisp definition

and hihats with a very clear stick definition, with virtually no wash
take a look at the HHX Power Ride...as for the hats, never go wrong with HHX Groove hats
It's a fairly nice ride for what I am looking for, it only comes in 20" though, I don't think it will project as much as I need it to.

And a new question, watch this video (in the studio) and at 35 seconds when their drummer starts playing can any of you tell what hi-hats and crash he was playing, the crash was an A Custom crash of some sort and the hi-hats were Zildjian as well, but can any of you tell what model they are? Thanks.
