Dave wrote "The Mechanix" before joining Metallica. When he joined Metallica they then called it "The Four Horsemen" and again Dave wrote the new parts to it. As far as I know James Hetfield only wrote the lyrics.
There is a couple of parts put into The Four Horsemen that James added that was not in Mechanix
There is a couple of parts put into The Four Horsemen that James added that was not in Mechanix
close, but no cigar.

i wrote all of the mechanix when i was in panic.

i took it with me to metallica.

i wrote the new middle part to FH.

most of the new lyrics to FH were mine.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Officially quoted by Dave Mustaine himself.

dead56k 06-10-2004 01:22 AM

o heh when i saw ur post i was like, are you Dave? but then i saw u quoted. heh i feel stupid now

ThrashMaster27 06-10-2004 01:26 AM

I can only wish. ;)

metdrummer 06-10-2004 02:57 AM

haha, nice one.... but wouldnt there be legal issues with that? either that or mustaine is earning cash ever time metallica play the four horsemen live...

TallicaChic 06-10-2004 02:59 AM

that's not cool if he is....grrr

metdrummer 06-10-2004 03:19 AM

what do you mean thats not cool if he is, he wrote the song...

metdrummer 06-10-2004 03:41 AM

Ok heres something for everyone to check out...

Play the song, Hell Awaits by Slayer through realplayer and listen to it sped up... it sounds ultra cool... ;)

Kreator 06-10-2004 04:09 AM

how do you speed it up?

LordDargon 06-10-2004 05:25 AM

I have a sped up version of Raining Blood... araya sounds like a chipmunk.

ThrashMaster27 06-10-2004 08:07 AM

Vinyl are the best things for speeding up, but it apparently ****s with the record. Still funny though.

manuscriptreplica 06-10-2004 08:15 AM

if you chuck it on 45 instead of 33, it should be fine. If you speed it up manually (ie. with your fingers), it starts to **** up then.

NP: Bathory - Necromansy. Playing all my Bathory albums as a tribute to him.

LordDargon 06-10-2004 09:53 AM

Beneath the Remains = awesome

Infernal Majesty = also awesome, I tihnk "None Shall Defy" will be on the top of my "to get" list.

FatalEnergy 06-10-2004 01:04 PM

I bought Terrible Certainty to Complete my Kretor 80's collection, and its not the best but it kicks ***, personally I like Extreme Agression the best

DisposableHeroes 06-10-2004 02:27 PM
I have The Creeping Death EP on Vinyl and it supoosed to be worth something, but yes vinyl rules, personally I dig CDs though
yup it would be worth quite a bit seeing as i think its been discontinued

anyone else sped up ozzy's voice on a sabbath album? Its pretty funny

dead56k 06-10-2004 02:29 PM

ya my friend has the randy roads tribute on vinyl, so we sped up crazy train. it was really funny

DisposableHeroes 06-10-2004 02:35 PM

someone should speed up scuttle buttlin' by stevie ray vaughn, the intro is fast enough as it is

LordDargon 06-10-2004 04:22 PM

Yeah, this Infernal Majesty is fu.cking evil and awesome thrash (though still not as evil as Hell Awaits). I would highly reccomend you guys check it out. Get something from the album None Shall Defy.

Thrash on \m/

bassaholica2004 06-10-2004 08:46 PM
erm i am not sure but it was i think dave wrote the song and when he left/kicked out he wrote it again but with his lyrics because hetfield probably put his lyrics over it. same with call of ktulu dave wrote that if you listen carefully to it then listen to hangar 18 you will be suprised
Actually, I read in an interview with Cliff Burton that he would walk around his house with an acoustic guitar tuned down to C sharp, and this is where they got the ideas for Call of the Ktulu.

ImaFr1gg1nSYCO 06-10-2004 08:55 PM

I don't wanna check through all 132 posts to see if you guys aren't accepting anymore, so are you? LOL, I had to make a new account since I lost my other one when I got my new computer and I forgot the password, and for some reason it doesn't send well to my hotmail account, yeah...anyway...

Oh ya, my initials would be {HWTPD} For Holy Wars...The Punishment due by Megadeth

FatalEnergy 06-11-2004 12:53 AM

I don't know if this offically fits under thrash beacuse its all different stuff, but has anyone picked up that Probot album?

JMetallica 06-11-2004 01:17 AM
yup it would be worth quite a bit seeing as i think its been discontinued

only about $30 or so.

JMetallica 06-11-2004 01:19 AM

I listened to the probot album in the shop and it wasn't anything special. Only the motorhead song was truely like that from the vocalist's former band. I was really disappointed with the Tom Warrior song.

Yea, the album was absolutely terrible, I couldnt believe my ears.

Perpetual Black Anus 06-11-2004 02:59 AM

Anyone hear any news on the upcoming Slayer album. With Dave-mother****'n-Lombardo. I hear its supposed to be like their old stuff. The big question is, will it be Thrash, or ****ty new slayer style.

deftoned 06-11-2004 02:59 AM

I quite like the Probot album, I was listening to it on the bus today. 'Centuries of Sin', 'Red War' and 'Access Babylon' are all awesome songs. Cronos is still in fine form on the first track. There are some solid riffs, which fuse from thrash to stoner to a bit of death. Its by no means an incredible album, but coming from the man who created the abomination that is the Foo Fighters, its a good effort.

edit: Now that I've been able to listen to the tracks with vocals (can't really hear **** on the train with a8o), I know which tracks are which (going by a promo copy). The track with King Diamond is awesome, really trippy Sabbath going on. 'Ice Cold Man' is definitely one of the better tracks, some good stoner rock going on.

You actually thought red war was a good song? Its worse then new sepultura and new soulfly.

I was there and it was a train not a bus.

superpeer 06-11-2004 03:41 AM

I quite liked the Probot album.

Especially with Lee Dorian (Cathedral) and the one with King Diamond was also excellent.
